Nintendo DS Specs Leak...

Heres the latest...

More Nintendo DS info seeps out
++ News Snippets ++

Updated: Thursday, 11th March 2004

A document claiming to be the full specification of the Nintendo DS handheld has been leaked on to the internet. If it turns out to be accurate - and it certainly looks rather convincing - the Nintendo DS looks to be a far more revolutionary device than first thought.

According to the Japanese document, the DS will feature 4MB of main memory, plus an additional 656K of video RAM. As was previously known, the device will be powered by two ARM processors, an ARM-9 running at 67Mhz and an ARM-7 running at 33Mhz.

The really interesting stuff appears further down the tech sheet, though. According to the leaked document, the DS will also feature a 3D graphics engine capable of pumping out 120,000 polygons per second - a first for a Ninty handheld.

Even more revolutionary, the sheet claims that the device will include 802.11 WiFi networking, a microphone port and a `touch panel` input device.

We already knew that the DS would support some kind of wireless link-up support, but few were expecting that the console would use such a powerful standard. Most Nintendo watchers assumed that the DS would either use the slower and shorter range BlueTooth standard, or feature proprietary wireless technology.

No news yet on how the microphone port and touch screen will work, although we do know that the screen wont be the only way to control the device (the spec sheet also lists more traditional controls such as a d-pad, as well as A, B and shoulder buttons).

RE: What`s the cheapest (and best!) Broadband connection??

Hi,

I use PlusNet and its very good! Had very few problems...

A good site to check out is; http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

You`ll be able to compare adsl providers and see whats out there and how much it is....

RE: Which `ping` is best? Higher or lower?

Classic game for multiplayer fps is battlefield 1942 - great battles!, also the Desert Combat mod is the bees knees...

RE: XIII - DEAL OF THE DAY AT GAME.COM

Shame that the game is poor - nice idea, great graphics but a poor, poor, poor game.

RE: Nintendo hardware mystery solved!

Sounds odd - looking forward to hearing more about it in May after its shown at E3...

From what I`ve read its not going to compete against the PSP - but will be in a totally different market?!

RE: Nintendo going to drop out of the console business ??

Now its all going crazy!

Nintendo boss: `Games have stopped selling`

It`ll be interesting to see what the new development is....

Nintendo going to drop out of the console business ??

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3397649.stm :)

All depends on their next gen console - though I seem to remember saying that with the N64 ..... :(

RE: FIFA 2004 - guidance needed

You`ll have to look at the manual for the off the ball controls for the xbox - and then have a quick practise in training.

But Semi-Pro on 2004 is tricky and yes you will get a few 0-0 matches - but heh! thats football!!

To get your `prestige points` back - turn off training and you should get them back - doesn`t explain them very well in the manual - but they are actually taken weekly so you can spend on training or transfers...

Good Luck!

RE: Favourite game 2003

PC - Battlefield 1942 - How much fun! Especially with Mods Like DC and Forgotten Heros.

GC:
Tiger Woods - Brilliant, always pick it up and have a few rounds every now and then.
Mario Kart Double Dash - a late entry but back to the hectic days of multiplayer Mario Kart!!

RE: Winning Eleven 6 FE on the Gamecube

Sounds odd - might be that he didn`t have a clue, once loaded by freeloader - it should be fine, might be his tv set or cube thats out with the colours...

Freeloader 1.04 apparently had bugs - but I imagine it`ll come with Freeloader 1.06 as they were far more widely available.

Heres a link thats got the three ways of loading with freeloader (I always used the z button method - as on first ever try it didn`t auto load and the z button way always worked):

RE: FIFA2004 is the biggest selling football game of all time FACT!

Well at least theres another person who likes FIFA 2004 in this forum! (and no I didn`t start this thread!).

To be fair I like both games and rate FIFA 2004. Being an avid football player and fan, I can`t say that either have realistic gameplay - if they did they would be far less appealling to the mass market!

Most of the game would be tied up in a mid-field battle, with sloppy passing breaking down moves over and over again and when finally you get a shotoff your striker more often than not fluffs it like a donkey and spoons it over the crossbar!

However, I find theres many more spectacular goals coming from PES3 on medium difficulty than FIFA 2004 on medium difficulty. But defending in FIFA 2004 is poor and you can get in some bone crunching last ditch tackles in PES3 which always raise a smile!

RE: Winning Eleven 6 FE on the Gamecube

Never happened to me! I had problems with freeloader, loading the main way, always used option 2 to load the game and it always loaded with out problems.

True Crime - whats the verdict

Whats peoples verdict on True Crime - and how does it compare to the GTA series ??

RE: Which console should I buy?

I got a gamecube and its great - and now cheap!

But out of Xbox & PS2, Xbox has got more legs better spec etc.. but the PS2 has hundreds of games - many very cheap...

Doesn`t really help much thou! :/

Multi Region HELP ME PLEASE!

Hi,

I`ve set my phillips dvd player to be multi-region but I`m nervous of buying region 3 dvds as someone at work thinks they will not work as the dvd player will only play regions 1 & 2 even though its set to multi-region.

Can this be true ??? :/

RE: Battlefield 1942 - Desert Combat patching help

All you need to do is to run the patch once you downloaded it. i.e.double click on the patch - DesertCombat_0.39K_Patch.exe

Then when you load the game it should all be ok! It should be simplicity itself ! :D
