FIFA 2004 - guidance needed

RWB (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 7th January 2004, 22:58

Got my copy off this for the Xbox off Amazon.co.uk the other day, and been playing it a lot the past couple of nights. I am a `FIFA veteran`, playing each version since `96, and normally start on Amateur when I get a new copy and work my way up.

I am playing 2004 on Semi-Pro, but struggling at times. Can I be given some in-play advice, like how best to employ this new `Off the Ball` function, other good moves, and things that can stop all the matches I play in Career mode (as Arsenal! :-D) ending in a 1-0 victory or 1-0 defeat...they are always too close, as I can`t seem to do much to break the deadlock and do well.

I am 8th in the league I think, after about 10 games, and in the third round of the League Cup - not too shabby, but some advice would be much appreciated. :-)

Oh, and also, how do I earn `Prestige Points`? I now only have 50, and want to get up to 1000 (and more!) so I can bid for some good players. I have won a few recent matches, but that doesn`t give me any points...so what does? I put a training thing on at one point, extensive then reduced to standard, so will that waste points away? Again, please explain!

You`ll have to look at the manual for the off the ball controls for the xbox - and then have a quick practise in training.

But Semi-Pro on 2004 is tricky and yes you will get a few 0-0 matches - but heh! thats football!!

To get your `prestige points` back - turn off training and you should get them back - doesn`t explain them very well in the manual - but they are actually taken weekly so you can spend on training or transfers...

Good Luck!

Thanks Ross, training now off and points are on the up. I will train a bit to get to grips fully, but I seem to be playing a bit better now. :-)
