Winning Eleven 6 FE on the Gamecube

peteh (Competent) posted this on Monday, 1st December 2003, 09:42

Has anbody got this or even played it ?

The reason why I ask is that it costs a bloody fortune (about £70-£75 with the Jap game + Freeloader + Memory Card) but I am desperate to get hold of Pro Evolution Soccer in some shape or form. Just wondering if it is worth the outlay as I`ve played PES3 on the PC (albeit very slowly) and think it`s ace.

Also, is Winning Eleven 6FE the ProEvo 3 or Pro Evo 2 equivalent ?

Cheers

Pete

I`m waiting for one to arrive from e-bay which cost £40 including postage, freeloader can be picked up cheap from Play (but for a couple of extra quid you may as well get an action replay). You will need a big memory card specifically for JAP games. (there are people on ebay who will supply a card with all the names changed to English and all the teams unlocked).

You should think of the freeloader and extra memory card as seperate items for your Cube that you will use again and again think about it you could be playing prince of persia and r racing evolution now.

As for the game itself it`s a version of pro evo2, and supposedlly better than the PS2 version. Wether it`s better than pro evo 3 is beside the point this is apparantlly the best footie game on the cube.

btw www.Gamefocus.co.uk are selling it for £55 pre-owned it`s not on the site (Nintendo are funny about imports) but if you call them they may have some left.

WE6:FE is the equivelent of PES 2.5. It`s an updated version of Pro Evo 2 basically for the JAP market.

To be honest, rather than outlay £70 or whatever just for the game, save your £ a little longer and buy a PS2!

Ben

PES3 would be the only game that I would get for the PS2 and as I already have a Xbox and Gamecube, so all of the genres (that I play) would be covered, so seems a bit of waste to me mate.

I`ve read 3 different reviews now on WE6:FE and they all rate it at 90, 93 & 95% which cant be bad what I especially like the sound of is four different ways to cross the ball (sad I know).

That`s just the standard thing with Pro Evo 3 though Peteh, the game is completely versatile in the way you can cross the ball.

WE6:FE is undoubtedly a good game, but it is not PES3. :D

Why don`t you just upgrade your graphics card like you were going to?

I`ve got WE6Fe for the GC - and since have had no social life - it`s just too good!

Think of it as ProEv 2.5 - tho I`ve played Pro3 and was kind of disappointed they didn`t do that much with it.

Keep scanning ebay - I got mine for £35 on there - tho I`m told that the two main Jap sites are now stocking WE for the GC again.

If you do want a USB Memory card I suggest you go to www.liksang.com - cheap and quick - no probs.

www.gamefaqs.com and read Lyonnie`s Guide in the um... Guides Section of WE6FE.

Thanks for the help.

I`ve just bid on ebay for a copy of WE6:FE + Freeloader but wasn`t willing to go above £50 (it sold for £60) as I`ve noticed that Play Asia are doing the combo for £47. Also, they are doing the 251 Memory card which I would need for the Datafile 03/04 but will it work on a PAL machine? I can get all three from Play Asia for £59 inc. postage.

The memory cards will work on any format (JAP/PAL/USA) - tho IIRC for some reason you can`t mix the formats on one memory card - so you will need an additional mem card.

May want to think about getting a USB memory card as you can download the newer Datafiles without haveing to edit all that info yourself.

A good site is www.savethecube.com - you will need to register, but it is free, quick & easy. There 6/7 Datafiles there to upload for WE6FE and a load of other games too.
