A document claiming to be the full specification of the Nintendo DS handheld has been leaked on to the internet. If it turns out to be accurate - and it certainly looks rather convincing - the Nintendo DS looks to be a far more revolutionary device than first thought.

According to the Japanese document, the DS will feature 4MB of main memory, plus an additional 656K of video RAM. As was previously known, the device will be powered by two ARM processors, an ARM-9 running at 67Mhz and an ARM-7 running at 33Mhz.

The really interesting stuff appears further down the tech sheet, though. According to the leaked document, the DS will also feature a 3D graphics engine capable of pumping out 120,000 polygons per second - a first for a Ninty handheld.

Even more revolutionary, the sheet claims that the device will include 802.11 WiFi networking, a microphone port and a `touch panel` input device.

We already knew that the DS would support some kind of wireless link-up support, but few were expecting that the console would use such a powerful standard. Most Nintendo watchers assumed that the DS would either use the slower and shorter range BlueTooth standard, or feature proprietary wireless technology.

No news yet on how the microphone port and touch screen will work, although we do know that the screen wont be the only way to control the device (the spec sheet also lists more traditional controls such as a d-pad, as well as A, B and shoulder buttons).

Looks like it will be better value than the PSP. Can`t wait to see what games will be shown for it at E3.
