RE: no-one playing BF3 then?

Imo it is only worth playing on pc. The console versions are damn average.

RE: I finally got a Vectrex!

Had one when i was a kid and still have one tucked away somewhere. Great machines..hated changing the screen covers though, right pain in the arse.

RE: How do i find out my router password again ?

Not sure if this will be helpful but, If he didnt setup a newpassword and the router is still on the default password try, admin or password or epicrouter

RE: BT Infinity Service (aka Fibre to the Cabinet - FTTC).

@Miles

The openreach hub they give you is pretty small and discreet, really wouldnt let it put you off, is a piece of p*** to setup.

RE: BT Infinity Service (aka Fibre to the Cabinet - FTTC).

Oh and dont sweat it if you dont have 2 power sockets near your master phone socket. They will provide a data extension kit and this will allow you to put both devices whereever u like.

RE: BT Infinity Service (aka Fibre to the Cabinet - FTTC).

Got this installed 2 weeks ago.

I was on ADSL2+ and i live milesaway from the exchange so my line stats have never been great, here is an example

Upstream 923900
Downstream 3851900
Elapsed Time 0 day 0 hr 21 min 3 sec
SNR Margin(Upstream) 5.5 dB
SNR Margin(Downstream) 6.45 dB
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 31.5 dB
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 59.0 dB

So, the max I could achieve was just under 4meg down and just under 1 up.

After fibre, my speeds are excess of 38 meg down and 9 up. Downloading at 4.8MB/s

The first thing to say is, if you choose BT as your provider, simply put...you are mad. Their allowances compared with others is a joke. Check out acquiss or IDnet, I can vouch for ID net as am with them and service is great. Am paying £35 a month with a 250gb monthly cap.

RE: Looking back on your life, what are you most proud of?

Thanks for the nice comments mate, was over the moon the album was so well received. Took a long time to get to that point but was well worth it.

Kudos to the dalek creator...(does that make you davros?) I`ts looking really good. Have been tempted to look into constructing one but the wife isnt impressed.

RE: Rutger Hauer

Looks good, gotta love Rutger.

RE: Looking back on your life, what are you most proud of?

Yes it is, released earlier this year.

Only took 35 years to realise that ambition lol

RE: Budget DVD Distributor - Wants to Buy 18 cert rights

"For the record we only want to buy titles already passed by the BBFC"

Ah I see, just tit licking channel 5 type stuff?

For shame, down with softcore...down with softcore!!!

Whos with me?

RE: Looking back on your life, what are you most proud of?

"So, am I the only one who`s going to take this thread seriously?

There must be something within everyone`s life that they`re very proud of, it`s all about context."

Im taking it seriously.

RE: Golden Joystick Awards 2009 - results

Number one retailer..game?

Who decided that i wonder?

Give an award for the most over priced store in the uk, whos prices are £10 dearer than their own website and who will give you just about nothing for your second hand titles...you can bet that decision was decided by comittee!

RE: Xbox 360 Hacking and Flashing etc

What Microsoft plan to do is anybodies guess. Noone knows if they have improved or changed their detection methods.

What your friend said has some truth in it, the games coming out in the near future are what will be called wave4 games. This means that the information that Microsoft embed into the video partition on 360 games will be changed. Flashing firmware will be updated shortly after the next wave is released.

RE: Xbox 360 Hacking and Flashing etc

Recently took the plunge and got stuck into flashing both my Xbox premium and Elite consoles. No probs.

To clarify on the last posters comments, the only tricky drive to flash is the Lite-on. The Benq, samsung and Hitachi drives are very easy to flash. Games can be ripped using either the Samsung drive that comes with some Xbox`s or a Kreon or compatible pc drive.

Most people download the games, they need to be stealth patched in some cases but if you know where to look there is no probs.

RE: PS3.... The 3 Beeps Of Death ? or am i just unlucky :(

I have just been through this whole process with sony after my ps3 shat itself 2 weeks outside warranty. I researched other peoples experiences with customer service and when i rang them i told them that my ps3 was still inside the 12 months warranty but that i had no receipt and the store wouldnt change it. I also sais that the issue arose after i applied the last ps3 update.

They sent out a replacement the following day, no hassles.

Repeat the above and you will have a working ps3 this week

RE: Charlie Brooker - What A ****!

Brookers entire point was that had it not been for the fact that she looked less than conventional, the media, television production and imbiciles in general wouldnt have looked twice at her.

He was spot on.

If we didn`t live in an appearance led culture with entertainment aimed at the gormless majority, this discussion wouldnt be happening.

RE: F1 DC announces his retirement from the sport

David Coulthard never got a decent car?

Are we forgetting his time with Mclaren and Williams? The sad truth is that DC just never fulfulled his potential in f1. Fair enough, he suffered alot of mechanical problems when driving with mclaren but i think it is fair to say he was just not quick enough.

Wish him well for the future but dont think the sport will miss him.

RE: Broadband throttling...

Hi, yeah i meant idnet. £35 is a tad pricey i will conceed. But if you download a fair bit and do alot of gaming, it is money well spent IMO.

RE: Broadband throttling...

I would recommend checking out idnet if you are considering a new isp. I recently changed over to their premium service with a 60gb limit, priority traffic, zero throttling. Ping times have never been better and downloads never faster.

RE: For Sale: HD DVD`s for sale

Hi,

I just figured with there being countless for sale ads in here, advertising them for sale would be ok. If it is not ok, please delete the thread.

Regarding the price, thats a fair point. Based on that i will take £40 for them both including postage. Alternativly i might be interested in bluray trades.

Cheers
