F1 DC announces his retirement from the sport

All in all, not a bad career in the sport. I have even forgiven him for trying to kill Michael at Spa when he slowed down and Michael ended up driving a Reliant Robin :D

Please, oh please, oh please let it be true that the rumour he is to join Martin Brundle in the commentary booth at BBC next year. No James Allen...................HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering whether he was going to call it a day or carry on for another season but he`s obviously realised the quality of the young drivers coming through and the media opportunities open to him.

I hope he gets a great reception from the crowd at Silverstone and ITV remove their cameras from Hamilton`s backside and realise that there`s more than one British driver on the grid.

Before they do that they would have to remove James "I want to pump Lewis" Allen and Steve "I love you Lewis" Ryder from his sphincter :D :D

Of the present drivers, David Coulthard would be my favourite but sadly he never really got a decent car. I also like Jenson Button but again at the moment he`s fighting an uphill battle. FWIW I like both the Ferrari drivers, I just don`t like the team. Anyhow, thanks David & whatever you do in the future I wish you well.

David Coulthard never got a decent car?

Are we forgetting his time with Mclaren and Williams? The sad truth is that DC just never fulfulled his potential in f1. Fair enough, he suffered alot of mechanical problems when driving with mclaren but i think it is fair to say he was just not quick enough.

Wish him well for the future but dont think the sport will miss him.

only settle for metal

no, I don`t think DC wasn`t quick enough at McLaren. The problem was that Mika Hakkinen was Ron`s favourite after his really bad accident in Australia and felt indebted to him. As DC has said in the past his side of the garage just wasn`t quite the same as Mika`s.
