RE: STAR WARS: EPISODE 3 Anticipation Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

Just seen this and thought it was very good although i found the love scenes poorly done with cliched dialogue, anyway i`ve only seen this once so can anyone tell me if the character next to the Emporer and Darth vader on the big battleship near the end of the film is surpose to be a young looking Peter Cushing

RE: Any Dell desktop users offer an opinion

I`ve got a Dell 8300 Dimension and most of the components are standard parts, Western Digital H/D, Samsung Memory Which u can Order from Crucial and is on there site, Radeon AGP G/F card Creative sound card, if your buying a basic model it might not have slots for upgrades say sound card or G/F card but the higer models should be able to accommodate this

RE: new series

I saw the Pilot as a film at Leicester Square not long after Star Wars, it had the Sensurround sound system which worked when the fighters took of the Battlestar the seats you were sitting in shook as if you were actually in the fighter, thought the film at the time was pretty poor tbh and not the same sort of experience like i had seeing StarsWars at Leicester Square on it`s opening day which absolutely blew away at the time

RE: The Sims 2 gameplay question

Hey Ben, to move your family click on the town your in i:e Plesantville but don`t click on your family, then click on the families icon at the bottom where the families are, there is an icon for "move families" click this then click the house the family on the map that you want to move out, the family you moved should appear in the families menu at the bottom, from there click on your family, click"move to" the house you want to move them in to, you can also move out other familes out of there houses doing the same thing above, Great game by the way

RE: Reservoir Dogs: Which Region is better?

i got the reg1 2disc set and the picure is very bright, possibly mastered poorly and i also have the reg 2 1 disc version although much better picture there was some lip synch problems in some of the scenes hopfully they will sort this out for the new version

RE: THE PUNISHER - Rated 18 - More sadistic violence...

I think Tony scott has made some good films, True Romance was good and Enemy of the State wasn`t bad

RE: THE PUNISHER - Rated 18 - More sadistic violence...

This is getting really stupid with release dates, first hellboy now this no wonder people buy or download pirate copy`s (personally i would buy a proper copy or see it at the cinema with decent sound and picture) and the film companys/distributors wonder why piracy is so rife, still maybe the region 1 dvd will be out before it comes out over here >:(

RE: Dixons to close 1/3 of it`s stores.

I use to work for Currys and a good profit for the store was selling extended warranties, leads ect but with the bad publicity of buying warranties, customers have cottoned onto them not really being good value for money, example £30 for an entended guarantee on a £50 product such as a phone is not really worth it as you may as well buy a new one if it breaks, I believe there shutting 1 in 3 stores or one within 7 miles of the next store i think they will open more out of town stores and deploy what staff they can to these stores cutting down the number of redundancies

RE: Differences between Kill Bill US/UK + Jap ****POSSIBLE SPOILERS****

Just watched the uk dvd and the black and white fight seems longer than when i saw this at the cinema and it`s starting to distract me, Can anyone tell me what ratio the Japanese version (i:e 1.85/ 2.35:1) if it`s anamorphic and if the dts soundtrack is in english, thanks for any help

RE: THE PUNISHER - Rated 18 - More sadistic violence...

Yeah i want to see this to and think Thomas Jane will give the charater a bit of an edge, I`m also looking forward to Man of Fire (seen the original film with Scott Glen which was pretty lame, book was great though) it`s surpose to be a very violent straight forward revenge movie, it`s got an R rating in the States so i reckon it will get an 18 over here

It`s not revenge it`s punishment >:(

RE: lcd monitor response times advice ?

My monitor is a 17" with 25ms response time connected via DVI input, i play a lot of FPS games and don`t notice any ghosting but if you look real hard and are looking out for it i can just about notice a tiny little bit, i read a lot of reviews at the time on various monitiors and although some of them had the same response time there was a big difference in the amount of visible ghosting so it does make a difference what brand you buy, the response times on new monitors has dropped since i got mine to about 16ms or lower so i would look out for that

RE: Blade [R1] arrived today in a broken snapper - advice needed

Got Blade 1 in snapper case when it came out, Blade 2 Canadian version came in an amaray case and i think all the newer titles come in amaray cases

RE: The best Westerns for a Western Newbie?

I liked Tombstone the Kurt Russell film, the Dollar trilogy that are considered classic westerns also try Clint Eastwood films Outlaw Josey Wales, High Plains Drifter or Pale Rider Which is more or less a remake of High Plains Drifter but i personally think is inferior and are both a bit surreal

RE: Movie sequels you refuse to buy on dvd

Agree with most of Floyds choices apart from Matrix Revolutions while not the best film in the world i did enjoy it, guess im one of the few people in the world to acually go out and buy this on dvd as for sequels
Rocky 2-5
Rambo 2-3
beastmaster 2
superman 4, jaws 4 possibly the worst films iv`e had the misfortune to watch
any film with Eddie Murphy after Coming to America

Immortel

My brothers just given me a link to this french film called Immortal, it looks like a cross between the Fifth Element and Stargate and looks totally bonkers the trailers dubbed in english with french sub titles? i think it`s about some sort of gods but i have been told you get a much better idea of the film if you have read the comics, just hoping it gets a UK release www.immortel-lefilm.com

RE: Battlefield: Vietnam

Thanks for that been trying every vehicle in the game and haven`t found one either

RE: Battlefield: Vietnam

Got this game the other day and think it`s fantastic, im running it on p4 3.2 1gb of ram 9800pro 128 card on highest settings 1280 x 1024 4.1 drivers with no problems whatsoever apart from some laggy servers, from what iv`e read i think the main problem with the radeon cards is if AA is switched on with some games especially battlefield the picture tears so switch it off in your card options and you should be sorted now all i need to do is learn how to pick tanks and boats up in a copter

P:S does anyone know what the hatch up/down buttons do as i can,t see them doing anything likepulling the hatch down in the tank

RE: Can anyone recommend a good graphics card?

The 9800 pro with 128RAM is still a better faster card than the 9600pro 256, iv`e read that a new bunch of cards from both manufactuers are due out in the next couple of months, iv`e also seen reviews on a 9800xt 256RAM and depending on the tests was on average 10fps faster but this card is about £350-£400

RE: What`s the most obscure DVD in your collection?

Think my most obscure film is Six String Samurai about a guy named Buddy (Holly?)
who makes his way across a post apocalyptic city to Vegas to be the new king (of rock n roll) after Elvis has died, very low budget but has some great music and fighting `takes on the whole russian army by himself` and dosen`t take itself to seriously

RE: Graphics card advice needed

i had a ge-force 3 ti500 superb card but would not touch dirext x 9 and threw a major wobbler when xp got anywere near it

Im running XP home with GF3 card and DX9 and not had any problems with games even running with all settings on high

RE: Graphics card advice needed

Im using a GF3 Ti500 at the moment it`s an ok card bit dated now but im still playing all the latest games with it, downloaded DX9 from microsoft so i can play DX9 games although the card is only a DX8 so i don`t get some of the effects but at the end of the day games are only going to run well with a combination of a decent processor, ram and video card, think you could pick up a second hand GF3 for about £40-£50 pounds
