The mags I read reckon that anything above 16ms response time for games is crap. However, I have a 15inch TFT with a 21ms response time and don`t notice any ghosting of the image at all. It`s excellent for Far Cry ;)

Obviously the faster the response time, the better. I think the reviewers just jump on the fact that 16ms is currently as fast as it gets and is therefore the best.

Your best bet is to try and have a demo of the monitor you want and watch it running a graphics intensive benchmark, or better still play a game on it!

Remember, the bigger the monitor the more noticeable the ghosting will be.

My monitor is a 17" with 25ms response time connected via DVI input, i play a lot of FPS games and don`t notice any ghosting but if you look real hard and are looking out for it i can just about notice a tiny little bit, i read a lot of reviews at the time on various monitiors and although some of them had the same response time there was a big difference in the amount of visible ghosting so it does make a difference what brand you buy, the response times on new monitors has dropped since i got mine to about 16ms or lower so i would look out for that
