Page 3 of Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

Pete-MK has me a bit worried if true, that the virus can go through the eyeball (as mentioned above), so half face masks are next to useless as a defence. So masks are only good at stopping you sneezing into another person?

Well here in USA New Jersey my daughter order masks online 20 masks for 120.00 which we split the cost , plus filling up pantry with cans goods dry goods cleaning detergents some meds and hands disinfectant and lots of bottle water. Slowly filling up two freezers. Its nerve wrecking 😳 plus heard one lady in Washington first to die of virus, they don’t know how she got it, may she Rest In Peace.

Brooky... i was watching Americans on the news this morning panicking buying, for such a big country, the general population really appears to have very small grasp on reality.

This is (stands to be corrected) just another winter cold/flu virus... the media have hyped it out of all proportion.

Yes it is more of a concern for those with a pre-existing medical condition, compromised immune system, the very young/very old who may have less resistence... but in general it should not be a problem to anyone exposed.

If it were like the Great Flu epidemic of 1917/1918 that killed more than the First World War, i would be more concerned.

Simple precautions around basic hygiene, and minimising exposure to germs will see you ok.
