She's done quite a bit of GP work in the last year (I was amazed you could go to a GP and her and a fellow student would be who you 'saw'!) but has decided a GP isn't for her.
Basically, now it's a year called F1 and then another F2 ('foundation') - each of which is three four month placements (cardiology, respiratory etc.) to then decide where you want to specialise.
Her first is forensic psychiatry - which is basically in a prison/secure hospitality treating patients with serious mental health issues...

Well, doesn't time fly hey (not)!....
6 years later and we have a Doctor in the house! 😂😂
Graduated on Tuesday and is moving up to Newcastle on Sun for the start of a hopefully long and fulfilling career.
Incredibly proud parents here. 😊

The connections you just described works just as well with a laptop.

RE: Laptop or desktop

I'm not sure how many upgrade a PC nowadays to be honest. It depends on your use case but processors now can handle pretty much all day to days tasks and as long as you put 8GB or so in (or even 16 at today's prices) and an SSD (an absolute necessity now) you're really good to go. Bigger upgrades nowadays generally mean one thing leads to another - CPU pins mean new mobo mean new memory etc.
A decent (not partularly high) spec PC nowadays will last many, many years - as long as you're not looking to play the latest games with everything turned to 11...
Within reason, a small form factor PC can totally be upgraded.. and use a fraction of the power of their bigger brothers. Or sisters.

RE: Laptop or desktop

Sounds as though the best option is a really small PC. I have an Intel NUC and it's great, loads of other similar options. Silent and takes up no space at all.

"We're in the semi largely in spite of him, not because of him."
No change of opinion here... Any decent manager and we win that. You know, try playing the best players in a system they know and play week in week out. Literally, who plays back to the keeper from the kick off to hoof it up field? A few times Stones wanted the ball from Pickford but saw the ball fly upfield, generally to come right back at him. Palmer, incredible season, changed every game he's come on in but still a sub, where he changes the game again...
Please resign Gareth. Let someone else realise the potential of this group of players.

RE: [VIDEO] Gladiator II

I was in Rome a few weeks back and had a guided tour around the Colosseum - absolutely incredible.  They told us about the time it was filled with water and a naval battle was recreated.  I'd never heard of this to be honest and looking at it first hand, it's astonishing they managed to fill this place up and it not leak straight back out again - never mind getting ships and a few thousand people in there.  Will certainly see this but can't see how it will get close to the original.

RE: The Euros

Yesterday was better.  We have by far the best set of individual players imho - but a manager who is clueless in how to get them to play great football as a team.  We're in the semi largely in spite of him, not because of him.  He has his favourites that he will play anywhere just to get them in the side - Walker has had a poor game every one but he's still there.
Thought the pens were great, Toney's I've never seen the likes of before!  I was worried for Trent as I could already see the media headlines crucifying him and hanging him out again.  Thankfully he smashed it...

RE: [VIDEO] Inside No 9 (Psychoville writers' new show)

I thought it was a great series, even less good episodes are so much better than most of the stuff on TV.  It's a program I generally watch twice too - the Escape Room episode was a great example of them giving hints and clues right the way through.
Apparently the finale had references to every single previous episode!

Just the £1.4Bn worth of PPE being destroyed now.

From being a nurse to running a company with profits of £800k pre-pandemic to orders worth almost £2Bn and basing said company in Jersey "for privacy reasons", just wow.

'Enjoyed' it again, not an easy watch often - Freeman and Adedayo both excellent again.
Nice to see Bernard Hill in his last performance.

RE: [VIDEO] Inside No 9 (Psychoville writers' new show)

Well, wow, what a glorious, meta, fan-serving finale - staggered how they pulled this off and kept it secret.
Maybe the one episode in the whole 55 where, although anyone could watch it and enjoy it, fans and regulars would have got soooooo much more out of it.
So many Easter eggs, lines and references to previous episodes - from the names of the cocktails to even recreating part of the first ever episode (Sardines) inside a toilet cubicle - even with Tim Key, Katherine Parkinson (or was it Amanda?...) and Anne Reid to Jason Watkins querying the bill - and the wonderful montage with scenes from previous episodes accompanied by the (can never keep a dry eye to this one) 'Time To Say Goodbye' song..
Nick Mohammed was hilarious, everyone played their part
The rumour was this was going to be an episode with just Reece and Steve couldn't have been more wide of the mark, the closing credits an astonishing 'who's who' showing just how keen actors even at the top of their game want to be in this - and to have Robin Askwith in it and finish with the On The Buses spoof that's been asked for for years and teased as a real episode last season was the icing on the cake.
The Telegraph summed it up quite well: "Tucked away on BBC Two, it never quite got the recognition it deserved. Now this criminally underrated show is coming to an end."
9/9, awesome.

RE: [VIDEO] Inside No 9 (Psychoville writers' new show)

Last episode tonight 😭😭
Brief article here suggesting it be watched live but I don't think they know really.
Anyone who hasn't seen this before do yourself a favour and watch some, they're standalone, half hour stories and all available on iPlayer.
A good starting point would be S2E2, 12 Days of Christine....

RE: [VIDEO] Inside No 9 (Psychoville writers' new show)

This season is absolutely smashing it.
Last but one episode completely as seen from a Ring doorbell was superb and last week's, from inside an escape room had it all.  The repeat watch (I always watch them twice) had so many breadcrumbs and clues along the way - all of which I completely missed!
Think that's 55 completely different episodes now - genius.

RE: [VIDEO] So... what are you playing just now?

Just finished Animal Well (on Switch) - great stuff, all done by one guy.
In fact, apparently the 4K backdrop for the PS5 version takes up more space that the whole of the game code!

Elbow at the finally open, infamous Co-Op Live Arena.  They were superb as ever and the arena really impressive, although I did glance to the ceiling a few times..

RE: [VIDEO] Inside No 9 (Psychoville writers' new show)

Thought this was a great start!
No clue where it was going and then such a wtf moment I had to watch it all again!  The clues on second viewing are so good (SPOILER:
wow, even the train is called a Replacement Service!
) but after reading the Denofgeek review, I realised there were even more.
Great stuff!
