RE: Ridley Scott's Raised by Wolves | Official Trailer | HBO Max

So will there be a legit way of watching this in the UK?

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

No, apparently it's fine, acceptable and cool to selectively ignore all that.
As is to desperately scrabble around to justify any decision made.

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

The only reason I can think of them feeling they needed to put rules aside is due to years and years of incompetence and not managing to maintain anything close to the stocks of such items that they should have been doing.
And even that doesn't absolve them from ignoring due process and then ordering goods that were not fit for purpose.
Scary to think how many mates have profited by millions over this while the rest suffer.

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

Don't think this is at all like going to such a plumber Rob.
There are laws and policies in place to stop precisely this sort of thing. Single source for something like this, that isn't even fit for purpose. Wow.

The possible/probable conflict of interests and complete disregard for ethics and compliance here is staggering.

RE: Explosion in Beiruit

I posted the thread almost minutes after and long before they knew what it was and fireworks were being given as a credible explanation. I still wasn't onboard with it but lots of the initial footage suggested some sort of firework activity in there.
Long confirmed to be ammonium nitrate and there will be numerous people blamed and scapegoats. Plenty of similar incidents around the world it seems....

Explosion in Beiruit

On the BBC here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-53656220
...
but the clips from here are astonishing:

Especially the second one. Like the scene from T2!

Fireworks?....

RE: What We Do In the Shadows

Not seen this thread before.
Read it.
Admars said it was funny.
Just watched 3 back to back and carrying on...
Fantastic, hilarious - loved it.

Cheers!

RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

I know Alfie. Like millions and millions of others.
Things have ended, things have started. Things that should be OK suddenly now aren't. Businesses that could open now can't. Weddings that have been arranged and could happen now can't. I can cut your hair but not your eyebrows. Logic seems to be put of the window.
I'd also be confident that Si wouldn't be able to answer some of them without help either (and I certainly couldn't be arsed asking any) but I won't let that get in the way of more veiled 'What, how dare you criticise this government?!?!' responses.
(and then a 'What, not everything they do is perfect...'..) Corbyn/Starmer blah blaaaah.
Zzzzz

Yes, free from O2.
Same, not really used it but it was free.. :-)
Actually watched a few Simpsons from when it was really funny and Hamilton(!)

RE: [VIDEO] I think I need a new tv

Funnily enough I just installed Disney+ last week as I got it free for 6 months. I added it to the main menu and decided where it should appear. (next to my iptv....)
I had to install it and there are no other Apps on the TV that I don't want or force themselves onto me.

RE: [VIDEO] I think I need a new tv

I know what you mean about a good UX is a good UX etc. but a 7 year old TV didn't have to deal with all of the Apps etc. that a modern one does.
Mine does no such update checks either and is usable straight away.
I can add or move Apps anywhere along the bottom and it even controls the VM box very well.

RE: [VIDEO] I think I need a new tv

Preferring 3 year old interface to a 7 year old one is no surprise is it?
I think the current Sammy one is the best tbh. Sony Android one can be a bit slow and buggy.

RE: [VIDEO] I think I need a new tv

Yeah, it's much better, smaller, quicker and stores more video.
Series Links etc. will carry over but there's no way to transfer recordings.

RE: I think I need a new tv

I'd prob look at Samsung and LG, not Hisense.
You'll also find you can fit a bigger TV now as they've gone smaller for the same size screen (smaller bezels).
Also, although 4K is almost pointless, you'll probably struggle to get one that isn't. If I were you I'd get 4k and get that VM box changed to a new V6 one.

RE: Unwanted files on PC

Does your PC have an SSD? I find PC's are so fast today (with SSD'S) that the answer to what I recommend is nothing.
These supposed system cleaners have potential to do far more harm than good. These 'duplicates' really aren't slowing down your system like they constantly tell you you are (are you also being spied on etc....) - the apps are there to tell you how slow your system is and either sell you something to 'fix' it or show you ads.
Tgey give you a warm feeling you're doing your bit to keep your PC healthy, but you're probably not.

Anthony..

Did anyone see this latest stunningly powerful drama about Anthony Walker?
Brutally murdered back in 2005 in a sickening, racist attack, it tells the story backwards on what his life might have been - ending on that fateful night almost fifteen years ago to the day.
Really makes the point of what a tragic waste these deaths are and the potential just snuffed out - so well told by Jimmy McGovern.

RE: Monitor problem

Pretty normal on some monitors that. Looks like back-light bleed - just a combination of screen 'tightness' and sealing by the bezel - a bit like when you poke an lcd screen gently
If it's new you could try for a replacement but could be refused or end up with one worse.

I know you shouldn't laugh, but having to close a contact tracing centre because lots have contracted the virus is amazing.  Who will do the track and tracing of them - at last, some work for them to do.

RE: Browser change

I like the new Firefox picture in picture thing.  Play a video on a site and click the blue icon and it pops out of the browser so you can move it around/resize and carry on browsing.
A bit like some PITA websites that do it but this time you control it. :)
