RIP Stephen Hawking.

Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76.

The British theoretical physicist was known for his groundbreaking work with black holes and relativity, and was the author of several popular science books including A Brief History of Time.

I first heard of him & his work on Tomorrows World & remember a story that he used to climb a tree daily when first diagnosed with his affliction as every day it might be the last time he could do it.





My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.



Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

A huge loss, he was still contributing huge ideas to science even in his 70s.

I'm really sad to hear about his death. The world really is diminished without him. Although we should be thankful he lived to the age he did considering he was expected to die in his early 20s.

I was blown away by A Brief History of Time back in the '80s, not just the science but also his amazing personal story.

One less sane voice in the world.

He's dead, Trumps alive, if that doesn't prove there is no god nothing will. :( RIP sir , you made a huge contribution to the planet, and unlike most, all for the better

Which is possibly the reason he is in the new radio series of Hitchhikers Guide.

A strange contradiction that someone so physically constrained had a mind immeasurably more free than any of us. Definitely left the world much richer for his having been in it.

I don't share a faith that imagines him sitting on a cloud in some other reality but I'm comfortable in the knowledge that the atoms that came from the stars and eventually made him will in future millenia return there.

I am not young enough to know everything.

Hopefully, he is now in a place climbing trees and having his awkward questions answered, or at least being pointed in the right direction, along with 'Zak' and 'Bert'.
