Page 1 of Rik Mayall - RIP
General Forum
Goodbye Rik.
Thanks for all the laughs over the years.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.
Absolutely heartbroken, an absolute idol and hero while growing up. From the Dangerous Brothers through Young ones, Filthy Rich & Catflap, Lord Flasheart. I even tolerated New Statesman purely because he was in it. Sadly he never really got a chance to show his serious acting chops, thanks in no small part to Stephen Fry 'gett his beret and dark glasses and getting on a ferry to Belgium'.
A real British gem who will be sadly missed

Writer`s Release
Terrible. Really, really terrible news.
56 FFS !! no age at all :( RIP
Shocked!
The Young Ones, Bottom, The New Statesman (I saw him in the West End run of that a few years ago, he was brilliant in it), Comic Strip Presents...
I was 10 when The Young Ones first aired, I have no idea to this day how my mum let us watch it, but it was utterly, utterly, utterly brilliant (said as Rik would say it!).

Cannot believe this, the guy was so young and lively
The way people drop dead Fred, makes you wonder about your own mortality in Life, when you see this, especially when your over 60, like I am.
I can now see myself pushing forward retirement date, and going back to Sunny Oz, while I and my wife still have time to enjoy it.
