RE: Scan SC-2000 `Not playing SVCD`s`

NiVZ
tried the MP3 thingy in Nero 5, exactly as you suggested, scan just spits the disk out, firmware 2.14, so guess it dont work for us mate
still at least we can play MP3s, unlike some rather sad, sony loving, no-life idiots eh?
by the way, I also have a Sony dvp315s, and apart from the fact that the scan has s*** loads of extra features in comparison, I can notice absoultely NO difference in picture or sound quality AT ALL!
So much so that Im finking of selling the sony!!

RE: FOR ALL SCAN SC2000 OWNERS

I was getting worried there for a min, suggestion for ya though...............bin the phillips?!?!

RE: SC2000 - picture problems, firmware downgrades - solution and explanation?

makes me laugh you know, you get a sensible forum, with all sorts of people all trying to help each other out, and in the case of this forum and string, trying to get the best out of their machines, when what happens???
some lame *~@hole sticks his nose in where it aint wanted, nor needed!!

RE: SCAN SC2000 V1.80 and V2.14

NiVZ

mailed you scan 2k formware 1.08
can you send me your instruction file for the scan mate?
my mates gonna buy one, and I had the instructions that you did, via xeno I got em I think, but I have lost them, and its kinda hard to explain to my mate over ICQ!!

RE: SCAN SC2000 FIRMWARE v1.80 WANTED

NiVZ
mailed you a zip containing version 1.80
lemme know how you go?
has anybody fully tested the macro disable on 2.14???

RE: SCAN SC2000 FIRMWARE v1.80 WANTED

downloaded your version of 2.14 NiVZ, seems to work fine, though I had to downgrade to 1.80 first
is it the official release?
not tested the vcr friendly status yet
I have 1.80 on a cdr, I can drag it off, zip it up, and mail it you if you want?

RE: ANYONE USING SCAN 2.14 NOTICED BETTER OR WORSE PICTURE QUALITY?

Ive just upgraded to 2.14, had 2.08s before, so I downgraded to 1.80, then up to 2.14, seems to work better that way dont it!
ANyway, piccy seems perfect to me on my vcds, aint tried a dvd yet, coz I aint got one handy. But then I had a perfect piccy on 2.08 anyway
still wondering about the macrovision disable angle though

SCAN 2000 & firmware 2.14

just upgraded to this version, does anybody know if it is macro free, coz I aint got a dvd disk to hand!!
Also, what are the benefits of this version, anybody know????

RE: Scan SC2000 - Problems - Help

did u straight from 2.08s, or did you have to downgrade first??

RE: Scan SC2000 - Problems - Help

is this 2.14 definately vcr friendly????

RE: scan sc2000 macro disable

you need to downgrade to version 1.08, then back up to version 2.80, then you can disable macro

SCAN firmware

any sign of this ellusive 2.13 (macro disabled of course, anything else is just a waste of time!!!!)?

RE: Scan 2000 or brand name?

better than PAL60, it has PAL50 sos you can record, as well as watch, (wink wink) region 1s in colour

RE: Unable to disable macro on scan 2000 with 2.08 firmware...HELP!!!

RE: Unable to disable macro on scan 2000 with 2.08 firmware...HELP!!!

sorted it now chaps, didnt realise I had to downgrade to 1.80 first!!!
sorted at last, now Im gonna check out how good it is, now I can actually see the movie!!

RE: Unable to disable macro on scan 2000 with 2.08 firmware...HELP!!!

I have run 2.80 and macro is NOT disabled, I have only 1 scart on my telly and hence watch it "through" the video, which is not possible due to the macrovision, I have to plug the dvd direct into the telly, otherwise the picture keeps cutting out, colour loss ect, in other words macrovision

Unable to disable macro on scan 2000 with 2.08 firmware...HELP!!!

have burnt this firmware version on a cdr, and installed it as per
instructions, and I am having the following problems.
I do NOT get the "writing" message on the blue screen, as the instructions
say, all I get up is a TDVD-000.ROM mesage on a blue screen, the display of the DVD player says loading, then after a couple of mins it ejects. I power off, power on,
check the firmware revision and i get these in the menu
TDVD-000.ROM as downloaded file name
and 00208 as main version
is the flash upgrade now done???
secondly, when I try to disable the macro, NOTHING changes on the screen after I have pressed the setup button, and then when I check the macro status, I get 0000003, which accordng to instructions means macro is still enabled
any ideas??
Are ALL dvd movies macro protected???????

RE: Scan 2000

Jeeez, wish somebody would of told me that before I ordered, I wouldnt of bothered!!

RE: My two pence worth in support of SCAN...

Ill withold judgement at the moment coz I cant even get my one delivered!!

RE: NELLEY WILL MACRO BE DISABLED ON NEXT FIRMWARE RELEASE?

sounds good to me guys
only problem for me is, I cant seem to get mine delivered!!!!

RE: Scan 2000

oh well, took the day off work so somebody would be in to recieve this package, and guess what?? It hasn`t turned up!
Gonna have to take another day off tomorrow now, gonna demand loss of earnings compensation though, coz I paid for next day delivery, and I didnt get it...hence breach of contract to my mind

RE: NiVZ you got new firmware for scan-2.13/2.14??

Yes Nelley, dont forget to disable the Macro, or we`ll all still be screaming, lol

RE: anybody tried this?

my video is NTSC playback compatible, but not recording. Mind you, if the other video you have is not NTSC compatible, I guess it must of recorded it in PAL!

Scan 2000

Ordered one of these on Friday, for delivery this morning.
It has not turned up, and every time I telephone scan, as soon as I say "can you tell me where my dvd player is", the nice chap on the other end of the line hangs up on me!!!
I have to say, Ive heard of bad custmer service, but this takes the biscuit!
