Until this thread I had never heard of Firefly. Do you have to see it before Serenity or can the film be watched and understood on it`s own terms?


Not essential but I think you will enjoy Serenity more if you have gotten to know the characters - only my opinion.

Just to say I think the ban has been long overdue. Having seen how well it is working in Ireland where the majority of smokers now seem to be in favour of it, I think it will be a great success here. The evidence so far from Ireamd is that it has had little to no effect on pub trade and for as many punters lost they gained new ones who perhaps want to buy food too. I know it will be hard for some people but the smoking ban is just the push that a lot of smokers need to give up and possibly prolong their lives.

I for one will go to the pub more often now.

Hi

The missus is getting sick of me trailing a phone-line across the living room to connect to the internet. I was therefore wondering if anyone knew of a cheap device that connected to my phone point and another to my pc that would allow me to go on-line? Perhaps it would work something similar to my Dect phone. I have not got broadband and don`t need a wireless router as we only need 1 PC for the house.

I would be most grateful for any help in this regard.

This confuses me, if my local library can lend out cds which people will obviously copy why don`t Amazon or someone like them. Have I hit on a money making idea that will make me a million or are there some rules preventing this?

Car selling tips

Hi I am looking for some car selling tips, such as:

- the best place to advertise;
- how much to ask for;
- what to say in the advert;
- general dos and don`ts with regard to selling e.g. when to part with the car on receipt of a cheque.

Any thoughts on this would be useful.

My car is a 7 year old 3 series BMW and has some very minor body work to be done - is it worth my while spending money to do this work or will I not recoup the cost?

Hi, I have an iriver H340 and I highly recommend it - it plays mp3, radio, movies has in-line recording etc - I think the 20GB version is cheap in Dixons at the moment.

Replacement remote for Sony TV

Hi,

I am looking for a replacement remote control for my Sony TV (Model: KV32FX66U) but Sony UK suggested I contact a supplier called SEME NEDIS LTD who have quoted a figure of £45 inc. p+p. Can anyone suggest another supplier who might be cheaper than Seme? I do not want a universal remote as these do not have the full funtionality of a proper remote.

I don`t know if anyone has mentioned the iRiver - I have a 40 gb H340 which plays mp3, wma and OGG. It also plays videos and photos oh and a cool FM radio which can be recorded. I also like the recorder for gigs and the line in to transfer tapes and vinyl to MP3. Just another option to consider.

I have to do a factory re-set according to Medion due to problems I have with my PC shutting down. I am reluctant to do this unless I can save various d/l s/w on my c drive. Medion say I will lose this s/w if I do the reset so my question is whether there is an easy way for me to back up this s/w and to reinstall after the reset?

Very grateful for any help with this.
