Have you tried the DivX player? From the DivX website.

The latest versions of Winamp & Windows Media Player will do. Also, VLC player is good.

DON`T use DivX - It`s started to become bloatware, you have to fight to ensure it doesn`t install additional crud, and it doesn`t even play most HD content smoothy.

Get ffdshow or Xvid. Use BSplayer, VLC or zoomplayer to play.

search for the Kazaa lite codec pack. this installs most of the codecs you will ever need and you will be able to watch Divx on any media player, including Windows Media Player, which most people still use as their default.

As Dan says, the `official` Divx package is hideous.

VLC is brilliant, plays absolutely anything.
