Page 1 of PSP or iPOD

Ok i am off to Jamaica 1st October. :) I have a budget of about £200 and want to get a toy to take. Its a toss up between the above. :/ I do like sitting on the beach listening to music but i also love my games. What do you all think?
I think that as well as play games, you can watch movies and listen to music (mp3s) on a PSP, so I`d go for that.
There`s a warning here, PSP`s in strong sunlight aren`t great (perhaps its just mine) - but I couldn`t play it when the sun was shining down. (I`m hoping for you that Jamaica is sunny ;))
Also - you`d need a fair size mem card to listen to your music on the PSP (e.g. 512Mb or 1Gb) which will add to the cost.
I`m lucky to have both, and they each have their purpose....you can`t beat an iPod for the music capacity and quality...and you can`t beat the PSP for watching movies on the move & playing games (FIFA rocks BTW).
Go for the IPOD - why? because you don`t have to spend a load of dosh on games and movies or memory cards!
I have both ad I would never leave the house without the IPOD - but the PSP is a take it or leave it item.

How do you propose you fill a 40gig iPod then? Im shocked. SHOCKED I SAY!!
Ive got a tour of asia in the offing in about a month and ive been weighing this up too. Ive already got a kick ass 20gig MP3 player so ive been pondering how else im going to pass the time on all 8 :o flights.
Im probably going to get a nintendo DS on my stopover in Hong Kong because its cheap and im not hugely convinced I will spend a lot of time playing a portable when I get back. And maybe a lightweight portable DVD player. But, if i see any PSPs at around the 100 quid mark I will probably go for one of them.
And in answer to your question, you will probably get more day to day use out of an iPod, bu tthe PSP will be more short term fun and entertaining on long journeys. Additionally, consider something else other than an Ipod. Contrary to popular belief, they arent the second coming of jesus and there are a lot of cheaper players that easily match or beat Ipods in virtually every category.
You could pick up a decent harddrive player and Nintendo DS for the price of a midrange Ipod.
All glory to the hypnotoad
What im listening to (if youre interested)
I have both, and say the PSP wins hands down. You have the option to play MP3`s, watch movies/TV shows, store and view photos and connect wirelessly to the net. That`s BEFORE you include the main reason for having it and that is the fact that it`s a superb gaming system. Sadly my DS doesn`t even get a look in now.
Even now when playing Ridge Racer the graphics astound me and we are led to believe the PSP is only using 1/3 of it`s total power when running it.
Go for a PSP I say. ;)
Here`s Chucky!

Hi, I have an iriver H340 and I highly recommend it - it plays mp3, radio, movies has in-line recording etc - I think the 20GB version is cheap in Dixons at the moment.
