Well since the original post I have got SKY+ installed and an honestly say me and the family are well chuffed.
Also very glad a few people have done the same and got theirs too :)
The Virgin/SKY competition has made the deal possible. When the SKY installer came to the house he was telling me that he knows the SKY+ will be standard equipment in the next six months with SKY HD as the upgrade package (so no standard boxes anymore). So anyone who is thinking of getting SKY could try their hand at getting SKY+ first by speaking to customer services; use the Virgin V+ service example and saving some hard earned money.

Got a free SKY+ box last night, want one?
A guy from Virgin Media did door to door sales and offered to give me £10 a month off the V+ service (similar to sky+ but apparently better) for the first 6 months.
This was based on the Virgin XL TV package which was £21/ month. (you can look on the virgin website and check all the details).
Very impressed until you read the list of channels you get :(
Anyway, rang SKY and told them I wanted to cancel my subscription and give them the 1 month notice.
They pass you on to the cancellations department where they ask for why you want to cancel. Gave the details I got from Virgin and they go on about reducing your package (I was on the old SKY World which was £43.50 a month. I told them we only watch the Nickleodeon and disney channels for the kids (we do!) as these channels are available on the Virgin XL TV package.
You then tell them about the V+ service and how much better it is than SKY+, they will offer you a SKY+ box for £49, reject it and say the Virgin one is free, hey presto 2-3 mins later after `a word with the manager` you get the SKY+ box. Getting mine next week all free installation, etc. Check the virgin website and see if you can get it first then go for it, you might get it.

Bought on Thursday looking good so far, great clear picture and good selection of discs the DVD player plays.
New selection of HD-DVD`s on the market at the end of the month (£17.99 @ play.com) so will use it with them.
No idea in regard to multi-region but i`m sure it won`t be long before someone finds it!

Motorola V171 flip phone only £29.99 @ Woolworths
Bought this phone for the wife, excellent little starter phone.
Its on the Orange network, you get:
Motorola V171 phone.
Orange PAYG sim with £1 calling credit.
Charger.
Instructions.
Plus when you register with Orange you get 1 month or 4mb of Internet use.
Also, you can transfer to another free trial, 30 text messages for a month; £3 calling credit to phone/text from abroad (phone is dual band so it will also work in Europe), and one or two other free trials.
I used the internet to download loads of ring tones (polyphonic) and it stored them all.
Also using Zedge I downloaded a few wallpapers to the phone which were better than the preset ones already on the phone.
Only downside to the phone is the small screen, plus it does not have a camera, but for 30 notes I would`nt have expected it.
Just a quick one for anyone interested I used www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap for the free poly ringtones (50 cent, usher and 1000`s more all free!)
Also I used www.zedge.no for the wallpapers, easy to use and register for free.

I thought exactly the same until I saw a `3 for 2` tag on one of the bikes. Tried my hand at the till, she scanned the barcode and hey presto `3 for 2` came up!

I`ve been to both and in my opinion Gumbet is miles better. Because of the kids ages marmaris has lots to offer, 2 waterparks loads of shops and if your hotel has entertainment, a good place to stay. But Gumbet is more secluded and more friendly, For example marmaris locals dont give a XXXX about kids, I found them all arrogant and rude. Gumbet locals could not do enough for you to have a good time. I`m going to Gumbet this year and looking forward to it.
Gumbet has a burger king, nearby is bodrum with a great market, mcdonalds and a waterpark for the kids.
Gumbet RULES !!!

If Tony Power, Random Username & any others have a problem with their GPRS settings here is what to do:
Press MENU
Scroll up to SERVICES
Press SELECT
Go down to SETTINGS
Press SELECT
Choose CONNECTION SETTINGS
Choose EDIT ACTIVE SERVICE SETTINGS
Then edit the following info:
SETTINGS NAME: o2
HOMEPAGE: http://wap.o2.co.uk
PROXIES: ENABLE
PRIMARY PROXY: 193.113.200.195
PORT: 8080
SECONDARY PROXY: 193.113.200.195
PORT:8080
BEARER SETTINGS: PRESS SELECT
Then edit the following info:
GPRS ACCESS POINT: payandgo.o2.co.uk
AUTHENTICATION TYPE: Normal
LOGIN TYPE: Automatic
USER NAME: payandgo
PASSWORD: password
then re-type password (be careful because after 1 sec your text turns into an *)
Once done, just exit menu then press and hold 0 to access your GPRS
it will take a few seconds until you see a G with a box around it.

Tesco Broadband.....Any good?
As the title suggests, i`m looking for a cheap broadband package to use on my new BT line. No download limits is essential though. I know Virgin Broadband does not have any tie-ins (12 month contract). Anyone else found a good deal.

Obviously Floyd has NEVER been to Liverpool before and likes to talk out of his A@*E!
Lived here (Liverpool) for nearly 30 years and never had a problem. Glasgow had the same problem as Liverpool, people kept putting the city down, but until you visit the place you find that the people there are the most friendly in the UK. I just think you need to go rather than listen to the `old stories` going around.

I bought this player last summer from Wal-Mart in Florida. Its plays everything, dvd(-r/+r) sadly though its region 1 only. You can play some region 2 discs if you press the No 2 button down on the remote as you close the top lid.
I have been told that this player can be updated with a software download from:

It may fix this problem,

My wife and I are looking for any trade warehouses that stock CDR`s/DVD-R`s (all makes) in the North West area.
We are starting a small business and are looking for a number of stockists.

I would deny all knowledge of anything happening, I mean no one was hurt, it was six months ago and there were no other witnesses. Its his word against yours = NO CASE.
If there is no damage to your car, who cares about the reg no, it could have been anyones as far as you are concerned.
This bloke was stopped on the street by these `no-win-no fee` guys and thought, `mmm I could make a grand or two on losses, no skin of my nose if it goes tits-up`.
I had a very similar problem 2 years ago when no win, no fee started, all I did was to get a solicitor to send a strong letter of complaint stating that you do not know of this person and to get their facts right, No claim on their insurance is your saviour.
End of story.
(I do not charge for this I am voluntary).

I went to the Eminem concert last night at Milton Keynes bowl. I took my daughter who was 14. We got there early to get a decent spec. When we were allowed in the crash barriers at the front were packed and some idiots were sitting on the floor and refused to budge. we were told families with children were allowed at the front ring (VIP area) all you do is go to the far left corner of the stage and see the steward.He/she will let you and and your kids into the front enclosure ! We were also given wristbands so you can go out for the toilet, drinks etc. Excellent idea for families wishing to see Eminem. My daughter also had her hand `slapped` by everyone including Eminem ! Please if you have kids don`t get them crushed or watch a stick Eminem from the stands take them to the VIP area for free ! We even saw `VIP`s` like Lee Chapman (footie) and Leslie `trout` Ash. Good night all round

If you check the back of the disc it should ( like a CD-R) be just the one shade. If you have 2 shades it means someone has already written on it. I use DATAWRITE and found them very reliable. Just compile a 4.2G data file through NERO or your preferred writing software and see if it will burn it. Coasters do come in useful along the way if it does`nt ! Just take the rest back and demmand a full refund.
