Good luck to the blues tonight, its going to be tough one though.

Please post your support to a team who `rightly` qualified for Europe.

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

OK, maybe `outplayed` was a bit strong but you played to your strengths and tried to play quickly and not give them any time, but they were way more skilful and passed it very well along the floor when they neede to. Beattie? What a waste of money!! Hope Crouch doesn`t turn out to be one for us. Although at least he can score goals (touching wood..)
Think you`ll need more than your fingers crossed to beat them by 2 goals at their place.

Every Everton fan knows that Beattie doesn`t really fit a 4-5-1 system but we don`t really have the striking options for a decent 4-4-2. Marcus Bent is not good enough at that level, despite playing his heart out last season. McFadden will never make it now in the Prem and Ferguson is only effective in 20 minute spells.

However, I had confidence that he could at least hold up the ball for what was quite a strong midfield fielded by the Blues. I may also be about to eat very humble pie, as I thought Neville had a storming game and could be one of most influential players this year.

Overall, disappointed after the cracking opening and tempo but I expected the late goal from them at the end of the first half. It was written in the stars the minute Andy Townsend opened his mouth about keeping them shut out and was clearly coming the moment Senna got the ball.

All to do. Gonna be hard, but not impossible.

bit disapointed to be honest. you could see how far behind we are. ok on the night they were not that much better, two very well taken goals was all that seperated us. but they should have been avoided. i was excited over the past few weeks in the build upto this match but the closer it got with not many signings i got worried. i dont want us to just go and spend for the sake of it but bar a couple this was last seasons team that in the second half of the season was more on a par with mid-table.

i still dont rate beattie, i hope he comes good for moyes sake, but he looks well off the pace, maybe thats the one up front, we need to play 2 up front simple as. neville was very good, like him already, but arteta and tim didnt do that much so maybe one could have been sacraficed to play 2 stikers. was per injured because by all accounts he looks the buisiness and might get some confidence back in joey, surely wier should be cover for them. i like simon davies, hope he plays like he did for wales a few years back.

overall i feel a bit flat, it was a bit of an anticlimax having waited for months.

Err...technically yes...
However,you were pretty much outplayed.
Typical european style.
Soak it up,soak it up,BANG !
Even if you had taken it back to 2-2,they`d have been happy with that.
I can`t see you scoring over there.
They will.

I think you`ll find most Everton fans are realistic enough to know that UEFA Cup football is going to be our main European adventure this season. It`s nice to get the experience of playing in the biggest competition though.

On the other hand, it`s not over yet and whilst it`s unlikely we get through without a major glut of goals (not likely considering our form last year), we can give up hope.

They were definately a much better technical side than we were, their passing and counter-attacking was both good and slightly sickening to watch. This is the level we aspire to, and whilst I can see small signs that we are moving in the right direction, we are nowhere near that level yesterday.

They sure don`t like it up though, do they?
