RE: My computer has been hijacked by incredifind.com

Try Hijack This V1.97 it has a bunch of registry locks that install when you run the program... they return the start page to blank, and search functions will default to standard ie/msn routes...

Coop Entertainment and Gran Turismo

Ordered Gran Turismo Concept for my PS2 from Coop Entertainment`s website Wednesday as they had it at the best price online, turned up today... upon opening the jiffy bag I was confronted by a rather dog earred manual and a warped, cracked and throughly nackered game disc... so after ringing them up and getting another one sent thats hopefully in *new* condition I wondered has anyone else expericed such shoddy goods from them, or anybody else recently... as this is a first for me...

RE: Have Game got a scam going, or is it just our store?

Yup at least two GAME stores I`ve been I`ve been told "sorry out of pennys" Hmmmm Scam it could be... whatever it makes a nice conspiricy theory

RE: Empiredirect Shaft Anyone Else This Christmas?

Yup, got the two finger salute from ED today as well, I ordered a Canon Digital Camera, and a pair of Eye Trek VR Glasses, via First National Able2buy so called instock, and today after ringing them up and talking to Woman who sounded half asleep was told the Eye Trek Glasses were out of stock and discontinued, I asked ok what shall I do as this was bought via credit though you.... and after what seemed like a 10min silence I was asked did I have any alternatives in mind.. I reply no, then theres another pause and then I`m told it will all be sorted out with the paperwork in the post for just the camera.... Arrrrrrrrrrggg...

RE: Keyring Digital Camera under £ 10.00

my dad got one and we both found it a tad cheap (well it is cheap!) and bewarned the USB connection may give you a headache claiming its not connected properly when it is connected the only way it can be... my dad has since consigned it to collect dust somewhere in the house... and yup its all but a marketing ploy to be subjected to the worst telesales experince on the face of the planet... "would you like to buy... NO!, Would you be interested in NO!, its only... NO! but really would you like to buy Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! "

RE: CDWOW and Play.com

CD Wow is based in Hong Kong they ship packages for each item, and mostly reship the orders within the EU to avoid Customs if over £18, if you do get hit for any reason, just send them a copy of the customs bill and they will most likely refund your expensises, Play are based in Jersey, and all their stuff is again shipped out one at a time, R2 stuff over £18 will have VAT paid on it... R1 is your responsbility even though it ships from belgem, Futureent.com are based here, but import R1`s from Canada and USA via Belgem, Repacked in UK, so no Customs problems, if a item says available in 3 to 5 days avoid as that could be months!, dvd.co.uk of course is UK based on the mainland, got first season of B5 from them for last Xmas very good service...

RE: Quick delivery by Blackstar!!!!!

Blackstar userly take a day to get items to me, Choices Direct the same, I prefer Choices Direct if I need something in a hurry though, free postage and better prices... Play seem to vary with delivery, depends how fast the pack and ship the items, CD Wow are blazing fast for shipment from HK, Splash are so slow you could go and get a train & ferry and back again to Jersey and still get your items quicker, DDDHouse, are sometimes slow to ship but items arrive quickly...

RE: Splash DVD.

Conan dropped through the letterbox this morning, address/customs label was attached to jiffy bag slapdash like, is really that time consuming to attach a label to a package? sigh... oh well disc is fine thats the main thing...

RE: Who framed Roger Rabbit?

Image quality of NTSC discs is totally dependent on the encoding, your TV and your DVD Player, all the previous Vista Series DVDs I`ve seen are pin sharp in picture terms., bottom line if you want the best version of Roger Rabbit R1 is the way to go...

RE: MovieTyme???

ordered twice, pre orders are shipped very quick (2 Weeks Early), they also repack in the UK so Customs should never be a problem... not had a problem myself, like the fact they offer recorded delivery for a little bit more... wish this was a option with more e-tailers giving the state of post service around here :(

RE: Australian region 4 + 2 dvds

Back to The Future Trilogy, Spider-Man and The Scorpion King

RE: Look Ma, No Snapper Case!

weird and yup WB as a whole are strange....

Look Ma, No Snapper Case!

Wonder Woman Volume 1 dropped through the letterbox this morning from Choices Direct... in a sleepy haze I opened it , put in the DVD player checked it was ok, took it out and put it back in the case, as I did I noticed something very strange, the case was clear plastic with a paper sleeve, have Warner Home Video seen the light and done away with those pesky snapper cases? heres hoping...

RE: Splash DVD.

Got email from splash today saying the Conan DVD I ordered about a month, maybe more ago has just been sent... oh well only £4...

RE: nVidia GeForceFX 5200 128MB A-FX20 graphics card for £50

FX 5200 is a waste of time and money, its not fast enough to handle DX 9 features correctly... if you really want a new Geforce go for a 4200 or if you want a FX go for a 5600, but as stated here in this thread the ATI Radeon 9000 series is probably the best bet for the budget video card hunter .

RE: yesasia.com - any good & how quick?

pretty good, seem as fast as CD Wow, also they reship from the UK, at least they did last xmas when I had two bargin boxes of VCD`s :)

RE: Star Wars 5 star collection

the DD5.1 track for empire has its channels mixed up, the Dolby Surround is just fine if you don`t mind the missing speaker channels, the discs ain`t that bad, certanly better than my pan and scan boxset, but I`d pay good money for the real deal whenever (2006 or 7 or whatever) they see the light of day.

Films First

Hey All,
here follows the saga of my ordering a DVD From Films First, the DVD in Question "Red Planet" price £4.95... simple enough, ordered it 22nd of April, a week then another went by, nothing came, contacted them via email got no response, posted a message on their official sponsor thread over at The DVD Forums.com, was told by Gary Green it would be looked into first thing on monday, monday came and went along with another entire week and nothing happened, so posted another forum message got no reponse at all, so sent a email directly to Gary Green got a reply back from Toni, saying the disc had been sent but had maybe got lost in the post and would I like a refund so I replied yes I would and well got no response... fast forward to afternoon and this appeared in my inbox.

Hello Mr Robinson,
It appears that there is no record of you ordering with us on the 22nd of April in any of our files only on vsp login as checked by myself today that shows that money has been taken out of your account and in to ours so your option of choice is to either to be refunded or have Red Planet DVD sent out to you
Please contact ASAP
ThankYou

*Sigh*

RE: Splash DVD.

nope they are still there *cough* they always behave this way... totaly useless...

RE: StarTrek Nemesis Region1

I don`t think its RCE if so then its a first for Paramount who have been clamping down on R1 imports from Canada lately... theres a way of checking the encoding on a PC but the exact way to do so slips my mind at the moment, other than that maybe you just have a slightly dodgy disc, I have one disc that will play in anything other than my PC which promtly blue screens to death and hangs...

RE: How to repair scratched DVD`s

Came back today, recorded Delivery, looks great, no sign what so ever of the horrible deep scratch around the middle of the disc :D plays back great too... new DVD player arrived too, so no more scratched DVD`s hopefully.

RE: region 0 discs from usa

discs from USA are Region 1, unless they are Asian imports of which most are Region 3, theres a few sites trading Region 0 Discs based in the states and these are selling pirate copies from Maylasia ect, there are very few legit Region Free titles unless of course they are special interest titles or from studios with worldwide licencing. if you hunt hard enough your find region free firmware on the net for your DVD player but of course use this at your own risk. that said true Region 0 discs should play on a R2 player...

RE: Missing EQUILIBRIUM from PLAY.COM

well someone rang them up and they were told that a ton of stuff had been lost in the mail system, my guess is Play are as miffed as you are, I had a disc go missing too, they sent a replacement last week...

RE: How to repair scratched DVD`s

I just sent the Second Disc of The Love Bug SE (That I only got 3 days ago) to be repaired by Thatzdvd after my DVD player went mental and cut a nice scratch in the plastic with its Laser! let you know what the results when I get it back *takes sledge hammer to DVD player in meantime grrrrr*

RE: Missing EQUILIBRIUM from PLAY.COM

a lot of stuff has gone missing from them recently ether due to computer glitch saying stuff is sent or light fingered customs or mail staff :(

RE: Roger Rabbit R2 Release Date?

its missing audio commentary and stuff like that, as far as I know the Dutch R2 is the same as the R1 in all but coverart best do a comparasion first, dvdzone2.com stock the Dutch R2 version. http://www.dvdzone2.com/dvd/detail.asp?id=123036

RE: Did anyone receive the free Dark Angel DVD from Fox?

I have to offer a resounding noooooooooooooo :( great promotional offer to sell boxsets this one :S

RE: Pricestorm.Any good?

used before, very quick.. good packaging... great prices

RE: the sims

yup they speak sim speak or if you like gibberish, perhaps to avoid the pitfalls of the same words being repeated over and over again. which would be even more annoying
