Page 1 of nVidia GeForceFX 5200 128MB A-FX20 graphics card for £50

I`m not sure if this is a bargain or not but I was looking for a new graphics card. Does anyone know if this is good or not?

that seems a good price - cheapest i have seen for a similar MSI one is around the £60 mark (+ £3 p&p). Not sure about the card itself though - depends really what you`re upgrading from.

Continuing Nvidia and ATI`s policy of releasing so many different types of cards it confuses the crap out of the people, the 5200 isnt, as the name would suggest, the new 4200. Its more along the lines of a mx440. The only difference is that it is DX9 complaint.

The general consensus seems to be to buy a radeon 9000 or 9100. Similar prices, more bang for your buck. Or better still, hunt out a AGPx4 ti4200 for about 85 quid, they are ace and overclockable to the max.

If you bought a 5200 for an upgrade you would be very dissapointed. Especially if you wanted to play UT2003 or summat like that.

FX 5200 is a waste of time and money, its not fast enough to handle DX 9 features correctly... if you really want a new Geforce go for a 4200 or if you want a FX go for a 5600, but as stated here in this thread the ATI Radeon 9000 series is probably the best bet for the budget video card hunter .
