Page 1 of Lidl Digital Satellite Set

Just been to Lidl and seen this:

digital satellite receiver

any ideas, if it is any good.

The flyer lists channels that can be recieved as:

..and many more

why would it not be able to pick up BBC1 for example?

It doesnt sound that cheap. you can get free view box`s cheaper. But then again this may pick up a hell of alot more channels. Im guessing the channels they listed would just be a selection, id be very surprised if you couldnt get BBC1. Im going to hold out till the end of the summer, SKY are (i think) going to be giving the sky + as the free reciever when you subcripe to sky. Well so ive heard!

it does include the dish, mounting kit etc.

how much would that cost seperatly?

i`m new to satellites, so don`t have much idea of the cost of kit

It`s a Satellite Receiver rather than a Freeview box.It will pick up Free To Air channels on Astra at 28 & 19 Degrees East.
For the price I`d say it was good value.
You obviously won`t be able to get Sky Sports,Movies or any other scrambled channel.

Quick search revealed that Lidl`s have been knocking these out in Oct 2003 for under £50. Don`t know how similar the offer was, but it could be a recurring one. I may pop to the local one come Monday to see if it is any good as a package.

Those were analogue sets, these are digital ;)

I`m interested in this, but I already have a freeview box, so the channels listed I already have. Does anyone know of a complete list of the channels you can get on this? I gather one of the german sports channels does much better F1 coverage, which I would be interested in... Anyone?
