Splash DVD.

I ordered an item from Splash DVD late in March. It was delivered exactly six weeks later, after I had made several enquiries by e-mail, then by telephone, and eventually, after I had made a complaint to the Trading Standards office.

As the cost of the item was £23 was I then had to pay almost £8 in V.A.T. and postal collection charges.

In their 'frequently asked questions' page they state: 'We have to allow up to 14 days before we are able to start tracing lost parcels, unfortunately we cannot do anything for you until this time has expired.'

In their Terms and Conditions page they state, amongst other things:
` If your delivery address is outside of Jersey you maybe subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country.`
.
Needless to say, I shall not be ordering anything else from them.

The worst that happened to me was 6 items ordered, 4 have arrived(not promptly) and on one of the I was forced to pay postage of £1.46. I echo your sentiment though, its really not worth ordering anything else from them because the time it takes is just too long. For the equivilant of a tenner, its taken an extra two months to deliver it.

I ordered two DVD`s on 12th May, one has arrived, one hasn`t. My email query has been ignored, the website appears to be unavailable (this morning anyway) and the telephone customer services line just rings and rings. Maybe the company has gone under.

Took a chance and ordered Monkey Bone for £4.95 delivered and it came OK within 3-4 weeks so am pleased.

I was nervous after reading complaints about them and others and would not be complacent but not every order is a disaster.

I wonder if it is better to wait for a month before querying an order for the first time - in my experience if you query something too soon it can be placed in a `query file` and this in itself can cause delays. Shouldn` t happen in this modern computer world of course but human nature being what it is....

Ordered some CDs on the 17th. Sent on the 19th. Some arrived over the next 5-11 days. After 14 days phoned them as some were still missing and was told they haven`t actually been sent and they were still awaiting stock. It really does put you off using them.

The CDs were cheap and I don`t particularly mind waiting but it`s the fact that the site stated they were sent which gets me and they had taken the money at that point.

They`re a strange bunch. I mean, I got my `City of Lost Children` DVD through within a week...but after a month of waiting for `Persona` I pulled the plug on the order. At least the refund was pretty quick and painless.
