If you were using a wireless transmitter the receiver would need to be plugged into this unit and then into the monitor, this one also seems to make an attemp at upconverting the image to make use of the resolution of the monitor.

After passing my test I bought an MGB, spent a fair amount replacing sills etc. If you do decide to get one check the doors close properly, if not possible means the sills are going and will need replacing. Have you considered maybe an MX5 or Fiat Barchetta? both available for £3k-£4k and less prone to the TLC required by an older car like the midget.

1. The NTSC/PAL debate only really applies if you are hooking up to a TV, this is where the NTSC or PAL system applies, as this has it`;s own build in screen it`s not really appropriate.

2. DON`T buy a Nintendo DS as a PSP substitute! I have both and the PSP out ranks the DS in every way. DO buy the DS if you want to play the games available on it. I bought my DS from dvdsoon and a copy of Feel the Magic and Mario the costs were. DS, £53 + £23 import duty, Mario £18, Feel The Magic £18. If you are going to buy a UK model I suggest ordering any extra games you want from dvdsoon as they work out far cheaper than UK releases and just buy the DS and one game from UK launch.

quick warning to anyone taking up this offer, I got tickets to the show a couple of weeks ago and got there wehn the doors opened to find that they had filled the audience allocation already. If you want to go get there early, they heavile oversubscribe to ensure the on screen audience is full. oh and they always say the guest is very important, takes about 5 mins of surfing to find whjo it is in the TV guides though!

I have both, have had the PSP since new year and got my UK VIP DS delivered last week, but have decided to sell the DS now as I`m never going to use it. There is no comparison between the two and I feel like I am taking a step backwards when I use the DS.

Megaman on PS!? When did that happen ;) - Well my DS arrived yesterday, so have had a quick go and have made a couple of observations.

1) I feel the unit looks like a toy and to be honest it`s a bit embarassing playing it on the train to work in the mornings, not so with the PSP.
2) Like the touch screen, but feel it may become gimmicky and get used when not appropriate by software producers.
3) Feel nintendo should of bundled a pair of headphones, non standard headphone jack to have not yet heard the sound from it properly yet.

I have a friend in New York for a couple of days so am looking for some software to get for the DS but to be honest nothing is really jumping out at me, any suggestions?

In summary though I would recommend if you were getting one or the other to go for the PSP everytime, (sorry to the Nintendo fans!)

???? That`s the point I was making that Mega Man games are on nintendo consoles hence this person may be biased towards Nintendo - Trouble is if you examine it too closely it seems like a much more serious comment than was intended.

In order to use the XBOX in HiDef you need to switch it to NTSC in order to have the option to run HiDef mode and also you need the hidef connection pack (component video + digital option and stereo audio) In order to switch your machine to NTSC you are going to have to chip it! This is where the online play gets complicated, if you go online with a chipped or modified XBOX you (your XBOX) will most likely get banned.

One solution may be to borrow a chip from someone put it in your machine temporarily, switch to NTSC (using enigma videoswitch i think) and then remove the chip. I think I remember doing this for someone in the past. Ensure you dont install anything new on the drive while doing this. When you remove the chip I am sure that the new video mode will stay and you will be able to then play titles in HiDef.

Dont think you will have issues playing UK sourced games in NTSC, hopefully somebody else will be able to confirm this. Wose is you put chip back in and switch back to PAL.

Strange how someone with the loginid of megaman_x prefers the nintendo machine! I personally have a PSP and am waiting (any day now) for the delivery of my VIP UK Nintendo DS. I will then be able to comapre the two and offer my unbiased opinion. Having owned all of both manufacturers consoles I won`t immediately trash one because it wasn;t made by the other ;)

easiest way is to do a google search for THX and VOB and download the THX trailers in full 5.1 then author them to a DVD and playback through your 5:1 system. There a re about 15 trailers for general download on the web. Here`s a link

Have been searching the web for a pic of the back of your machine to confirm but I suspect that bwcause it is an all in one system your unit has no optical in on it. The optical out is in case you want to output to a separate amp or minidisc. It certainly looks like there is no way of getting your system to play the xbox in 5:1.

if I was going to chip my xbox I would look at xbox-scene.com great site for info and buy a solderless chip. The spider chip works on all versions of xbox and should take 10 mins to install. you can download arcade (mame), commodore 64, nintendo64, sega megadrive, nes, gameboy advance and many other emulators all work great on an xbox. as said above baldbouncers site is great for getting the chip....

Well I don`t know the name of it but it is a standard connection, same as the connection on the Archos Gmini400, Smartphone C500, Nokia Mobiles Phones, Sony Digital Camera etc, etc.

The worst thing that lovefilm did (when I was a subscriber) was change its packaging from plain to love film dvd rental. The only other thing they could of written on the packaging was plase steal me. After this 1 or 2 discs were not received by them. Still for the first few months I received great service from these guys.....
