So would this phone be different to the one offered by OneStopPhoneShop. I am not educated enough to know what firmware is.

Firmware is another word for Software of the phone, Orange and Voda tend to "customise" (or butcher in some cases) their versions of the Phone, alter menu layout, have their own customised button layout, these are phones which come direct from the Network as opposed to places like CPW, One stop, E2save who generally use unbranded or "Vanilla" stock, which has not been interfered with.

I got my K700i straight from Vodafone last year when it was released, dead chuffed that I could use MP3`s as ringtones etc.....until I discovered Voda had disallowed the option even though no other network had. Very p****d off with it, which is why when my contract expires next month I`m moving to O2 instead. If you pay for the phone you should get all the features, I won`t be trusting Voda again.

Sadly that way doesn`t work on my phone either. With the very first version you can`t even play those ones as your ringtone. I downloaded one from Voda, cost me £3.50, and then didn`t work. Was unimpressed again.

Voda had been fine, I`ve been with them for about 6 years on PAYG then contract, but this past year they`ve been awful. At New Year I couldn`t get a signal for almost 2 hours after 12. I realise it`s dead busy, but my mates O2 one was fine by 12.20.

I`m just not looking forward to phoning them up to cancel in a couple of weeks, I know I`ll have to put up with about 10 minutes of "offers" to make me stay with them another year
