ALDI 80GB PVR with Twin Freeview Tuners from 15th Dec £99.99

Just popped into Aldi and saw this coming on Thursday week, not on the web site yet.

80GB PVR, Twin Tuner, Freeview, £99.99.
Not a DVD writer, HDD only

I didn`t get any other details such as whether you can transfer from the HDD. Looked quite a reasonable deal but may not be suitable if you want to archive recordings.

Anybody know which model it is?

I was either looking for either a v.good freeview box or a cheap PVR as a chrissie present and this may fit the bill.

Personally I have the Humax 8000T - single tuner but very good.

Cheers,
Scoobies

Sorry, I was in a rush and didn`t have time to note any details. No doubt someone will pop up here shortly with all the info.

There`s a thread over on MSE forums HERE that gives a little more detail, but it doesn`t look as though it`s TopUp TV compatable.

LB2

Have you tried switching it on........?

How about this beast, compatible with TOPUPTV with a CAM.

From JohnLewis so you get a free 5 year guarantee.

About £230.

amazing, you can watch a record freeview on the same card as long as the channels are on the same multiplex!

A friend has just bought it and he says it is an amazing piece of kit!

Cheers guys - Well aware of the 9200T (I am going to get one soon) and the Topfield, Digifusion etc. But the key here is it is £99 for a twin tuner.

Cheers,

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Also does anyone know if it`s possible to record 2 programes at the same time as I believe some machines can?

I picked up the leaflet in Aldi today. I`ve done a scan and uploaded it for people to read the specs. I did a low res and high res scan, from the high res one you can make out the model Technosonic PVR101 (I couldn`t even make it out looking at the leaflet...lol)

Low res scan 130kb

High Res Scan 685kb

I`ll delete the pics in a couple of days in case anyone complains about copyright (although I don`t see why they should, it might drum up more sales). :)

I wonder whether it`s worth going for this now rather than waiting until NTL brings it`s Sky+ style PVR out next year (which no doubt will cost a bit more per month). Do you think this will work with an NTL Samsung set top box, I don`t think normal TV will have anti copy stuff in it will it?
