Did anyone read that article in todays Mirror newspaper or on BBC Digital Text under the sci tech news section?
Apparently there is an asteroid headed our way and there is a 1 in 300 chance of it hitting us in 880 years time. So there goes the planet if we dont get our ass` in gear lol
Waht would you do if something like that was announced to the public but you only had 30 days to impact? hmmmm

Because you believe everything the mirror says? Now Physics World or at a push New Scientist, then there may be cause for concern.
There are asteroids a lot closer to impact than that one, we are well past due a major impact and such an event would inevitably be covered up to the point where we would only find out days before a fatal impact, no point unduely worrying a nation about impending doom.
If i were to find out we only had 30 days to impact i would demand they send up an untrained team of deep core drillers on our new untested advance space shuttles and give them around 8 hours to drill a hole for a nuclear device....
Do i sound like an arse? i wasn`t supposed to.

Why do I have the nasty feeling they`ll still be arguing about the cost/ what to do/ who`s to blame half an hour before the damn thing hits?
Maybe if we`d been told about this sometime shortly after William the Conqueror, somebody might get around to doing something in time.

30 days, That`s a hell of a lot of kissing!! I would no doubt spend half the time in a vodka induced coma, would also make sure I had told everybody exactly what I thought of them ( sorry Dad ) and would hope that BBC2 `counted down` to the big event with a Jools Holland and friends type party and not a `boo-hoo lets remember` with fireworks job the likes of which would no doubt dominate all the other channels. Oh, and I would finally watch `Death Race 2000`, well I`m gonna die anyway.
