RE: the jazz singer

Can`t get this on R2 at the moment. Has to be R4. Sorry

Cheers.

RE: Jamies Kitchen

Provisionally down for a 4th August release. Choices Direct have it for pre-order at £15.99 I think.

RE: INDY BOXSET - UK RELEASE STATEMENT

Am I wrong are aren`t they shooting Indy 4 soon? If they are this will surely make November`s box set a duff buy.

RE: Whats the stupidest thing anybody has ever said???

Last year when The Osbournes were all the rage my better half asked me whilst watching yet another interview with Ozzy what I thought his family thought of him. Imagine my horror when I found out she did not mean Sharon, Jack and Kelly but his brothers Donny, Jimmy etc.!!!
I sh*t you not.

cheers

Dream team anyone?

Does /did anyone watch Dream team? If so wasn`t that bloody brilliant T.V. tonight? Can`t believe what happened to Jamie but have no doubt what is going to happen to the rather tasty Abi - better get the hankies out for that one.

Tip Top Tele.

RE: Cheap Gamecube question

Phoned my local Argos today to find that the last one in the store was sold yesterday to a guy from East Kilbride, some 25 miles away!! He believed the promotion would still be running when new stock arrived but couldn`t swear to it. He also said, and wait for it!, that `you can`t get a cube anywhere just now` well LOL that must be one of those `things you say but once in your life` such as `Yes-I would like the extended warranty!!` and ` I wouldn`t say she was better at it than you - just different!!`

cheers.

Cheap Gamecube question

As everyone knows Argos are flogging the GC for around £80 with a free game and controler etc. However I picked up my (daughter`s - honest!!) GB sp from Game today to find a £30 off a Gamecube console voucher inside.
To redeem the voucher you buy a GC then send the till receipt away and recieve a £30 cheque through the post - however it states that the voucher is only redeemable against a GC console, does this mean that as the Argos deal comes with a game etc and not simply a console that the voucher will not be accepted?
Not really wanting a new console at the moment but for £50 I could be tempted, although the word(s) `E-bay` keep coming in my head!

Cheers.

RE: My dad, RIP.

Been off-line for a while and in fact today is the first day that I have logged on for about 2 weeks. Started to flick through the postings half heartedly until this one. Certainly puts things in perspective. Even with everything that is going on elsewhere in the world it is news like this about someone that we all `know` that makes us stop and think.
I am glad that you chose to share your sad loss with us all as, you will know from reading the replies,a lot of us have been there also.I have lost both parents now, my dad in November, and have found that talking about their passing, even via keyboard, to be of great comfort and benefit to me.
So do what you feel you should do, be strong for others, be there for others, but if you feel that there is no-one around who understands or you feel comfortable talking to then click on here and have a natter, because there are plenty here who do.

With all my deepest sympathy.

RE: What Screen Saver or Theme do you Have????????

Depending what mood I`m in my wallpaper is either a Spyro the Dragon shot or one of Stewie from Family Guy. My current screensaver is some thing from a free treasure planet CDRom what was trust into my PC when I was not looking! Kids eh! - honest!!

Importing GBA Games

Looking to import GBA games from the U.S.. However the only place that I can see that has a good selection is Amazon. However they do not import games outwith the states, very annoying. Anyone know of any good sites that do import? I have looked at Play, DVDBoxoffice and CdWow, though they do not have much as yet.

Cheers.

RE: How often do you finish games ?

As an unwritten rule I tend to avoid games that are long and deep, as I know that there is no way I will be able to complete them and will therefore feel inadequate again. Saying that I finished some guff called `Hugo` on my daughter`s Psone yesterday, took me 1 hour from start to finish. My current nemesis is chuffing Harry Potter and his freaking stone, cannot for the life of me get past the big tentacle that comes after you defeat the devil`s snare. This is despite ALL my friends telling me how to do it and with a walkthrough!
I guess I`m just crap!, bring back Joust - now I could do really well at that!!

cheers.

RE: Got myself the Ltd Ed Gameboy Advance SP package....

Where is/are these Import shops? Any web links etc.

Cheers

Guess what I`ve got?

Now you can pick from 2 here.
Firstly I recieved an E-mail from, wait for it, DVDSoon regarding the `status of my order`.
Well LOL I thought `what f**king order? `Spiderman` perhaps that after 27 E-mails and a big fat sorry from my bank for not being able to chase the monies paid I have, naturally, gave up on. No unfortunately it wasn`t, just an update regarding `The Ring`.
Or, and depending on your point of view, more importantly a baby son, born at 4.36am last Tuesday and going by the name of Nathan, although in all sincerity after witnessing his birth Golom was seriously considered!!

cheers.

RE: Strange but true

Cheers Ben!!, I know someone who is not going to work tonight!!
Mine`s is in a similiar vane. About 3 years past in July my ex neighbour`s husband died. he had been ill for some time so it wasn`t that much of a shock. Anyway i worked late/backshift in a bakery at the time and regularly got in between 12-2am.
Ot the time this event occured we were all sleeping in 1 bedroom of the house as we were in the process of decorating the bedroom that lies adjacent to the neighbours property, I live in a terraced house. Anyway on with the story.
Upon waking up one morning after working late I heard my daughter, about 5 at the time say to my wife `Mum someone was standing at the (bedroom) door last night` to which my wife replied `that would be your Dad getting in from work`, to which my 5 year old terror bringer said ` No it wasn`t I could hear dad breathing beside you`.
Concerned my wife asked `What did this person look like?` to which she received the reply of ` Don`t know he was looking into my bedroom ( the one being decorated) and had a hood over his head!`
Upon further grilling it transpired that she claimed to see a hooded figure in dark robes/gown turned to look into her bedroom. Did she imagine it? don`t know. was it my neighbour? don`t know Did i sh*t myself for weeks in this house oh yes. For the next 2 weeks I slept with a kitchen knife under my pillow, don`t really see what good that would do against a spirit but you never know.
Also every time i shower in this house, yes I still live here and close my eyes I get an `Evil dead thing` ( The end of the 1st one) in which i see my house through the eyes of someone/thing else moving at great speed until I see myself in the shower. i then naturally open my eyes and expect to see someone/thing staring at me from the bathroom door but no, nothing. I have ALWAYS felt this, way before my neighbour died.

Well I`m off to bed now to hide under the duvet.

cheers

RE: ManU - Arsenal, who do you want to win?

Would love to see Man U stuff Arsene`s arses, however I think Arsenal will shade it. Being a Leeds fan why should I care, we`ll be out soon enough anyway!!

cheers

How pi***ed off am I!!

Student loan paid in (late) last week. Since then I have been withdrawing £250 per day to pay of debts. On Monday I went to Uni and withdrew £10 for my lunch and a second hand book. On Tuesday night I checked my on-line banking to see if some DD`s had came off only to find that the £10 I took out at Uni has actually been credited to my account instead of debited from it. My pi**er is simply that why oh why could this not happen to one or all of the previous 6 transactions for £250 and not the only one for a chuffing ten spot. Oh, the cash machine in question is located at the QM union in Glasgow Uni if anyone is interested. Don`t know if it is still rebellious.

cheers.

RE: CD-Wow CD/DVD/Games sale started already (a day early!)

Oh Clayts, what hath thou done? Do you have Petrocelli`s phone number handy? Cos when my 8 month pregnant and therefore VERY hormonal wife finds out I have whacked another £40 on the old credit card, the same credit card she ordered was only to be used in emergencies for `baby related stuff` I feel I shall require the services of a damn good lawyer, if not a very efficient housebuilder!

cheers for the spot.

One PAL to rule them all?

Best I could come up with - honest! Anyway my query is this. Whilst browsing some region 4 site, can`t remember which one I came across some PSone games. The site states they are PAL, however so are many region 4 discs and they don`t always work in an unmulti player. So is PAL in computer games the same all over or is it similar to the discs.
Hope that makes sense.

cheers.

RE: Mail order is a pain when..............

You are STILL waiting for a disk to arrive 5 months after you ordered it. Thank you DVDSoon. Also when you have ordered discs on the QT from the wife, don`t hear the postie and the first you know they have arrived is when they are being thrown at you!!

Donnie Darko ***POSSIBLE SPOILER --- HOPEFULLY!!***

O.k., I know I`ve been drinking since about 6pm today but what was that all about? I got the end to the extent of Donnie (pretty hard not to) but have very little idea as to what else I am supposed to `get`.

cheers

RE: No, it`s alright I`ve just got something in my eye...

How`s about the saying goodbye to the kids bit in Terms of Endearment.
Complete blubbering wreck. I also wept at Cocoon when some old dude died, can`t remember if it was part 1 or 2. Can`t understand the LOTR bits myself but each to their own.

RE: No, it`s alright I`ve just got something in my eye...

`I`m Dying Forrest`.....and I`m gone, the rest of the movie is a blobbering blur, when he meets his son...I`m off again then the `You died on a`...floods.
`Champ don`t die` every time,crap film but still howl.
Green Mile, I have yet to meet anyone who hasn`t cried at that!
Deep Impact when they are saying goodbye to their families does it for me as does the end of A.I., yes A.I. and of course the end of Beaches.

There are loads more that I have howled at but I think that`s enough for now - getting choked here.

cheers

RE: Porn Star name - reminded by Ebony Branch...

Frisky Knowles at your service. terrible name for a goldfish but i was only 5.

RE: War ! Would you fight for your country ? VOTE NOW.......

Fair enough Haggis I`m Scottish too and would normally agree with your patriotic points. However,as has been previously stated, this is not your usual goodie versus baddie type of war this is predominantly unstable `dubyou` trying to pin the blame of 9/11 on someone else as he can`t find the prime suspect. A lot of innocent people of many religions, races and nationalities will be needlessly killed simply, IMHO, as he attempts to become, unlike his father, `a 2 termer`.

just my opinion.

RE: Empire`s 100 DVDs you must own

Only 10 for me, but I buy mainly for my 8 year old daughter and my wife, if I were to buy for myself I`m sure my count would be at least, oh I don`t know, 12.

No ID4 by the way, I quite enjoyed it though.

RE: cheap and early GBA SP - where?

Hmmm. Just over £90 with stepdown convertor. tempting very tempting. Are you gonna get one Morg? Is anyone? has anyone used these folks before? and finally I had a bash at trying to work out what I would pay to HM customs folk if my package was rumbled but the info seemed a bit unclear to me. Anyone any ideas. Thanks for the info Morg.

cheers.

cheap and early GBA SP - where?

Title says it all really. Assuming it will be cheaper to import than to buy here. No point importing from US as the release date is only 1 week sooner than here so need to look to the East where the release date is mid Feb. Have tried AmazonJP but could not make head nor tails of the site even with the language download and AmazonJP do not export anyway.
So anyone know an electrical shop in Japan that export?

cheers

game question

No, not a specific game but the shop - should have used a capital eh.
Anyway thinking of getting a GBA SP when they arrive but the `boss` tells me I have to flog the GBA I have first. Have placed it in the local rags and national traders but thus far to no avail. So I was considering trading it in at Game and getting an SP from there, however I don`t know what they will retail there at or more importantly how much I could get for my GBA if I traded it in. So basically software etc aside does anyone know the going rate for a GBA unboxed at Game.

cheers

cheap printer II

Stll do not have one just more questions.

I have found out that my USB ports are `dead` and as a result my cheap printer now has to be a parallel one. The only one I can find is an Epson C20, which comes in at £62. I may point out that the only printers I know are Epson so I am assuming there are cheaper one`s out there.
Anyway my query concerns the mighty E-bay. There are a couple of Epson 640`s (my old printer) on the go at the moment but as my only feedback regarding E-bay is `Damn you E-bay` from Homer Simpson I am a bit iffy about buying/ bidding for anything from there. Is it kosher?, anybody had any real bother?or am I better shelling out for a spanky new one with whatever guarantee this brings.
Any comments would be helpful

cheers

RE: Life in the old dog yet?
