um..hello THO :-)...cos the Muslim teacher was suspended by Kirklees EA and this was in the Forest of Dean....completely unrelated incidents I think....and in answer to the OP, I don`t think that it`s a countrywide thing. Society isn`t going to be completely undermined because of this one little bit of media frenzy (I imagine the Mail and Express will have a problem squeezing in yet another Diana conspiracy theory, with picture of the glorious Princess of Wales (spit) on their front pages tomorrow though).

I also suspect that this chap will be watched closely, and it doesn`t mean that everyone under 16 who attends the gym is now about to be molested. Time to watch the Brass Eye special I think :-)

What exactly are the gym supposed to do?
This is a man who is not on the sex offenders register, not on day-release from prison and not subject to any sort of control order - in other words, a free citizen. Whether or not you believe him to be rehabilitated (and I know that plenty of people are of the opinion `once a nonce, always a nonce`), the courts say he is. Because of this, to ban him would clearly be a breach of his human rights.

Mr Titherington, sir.
A little voice of sense in the wilderness.

Wheres Kenny Everetts Mr Angry when we really need him. :)

During all the stories and threads along this line I can`t get the image of Donald Sutherland at the end of Invasion of the Body Snatchers out of my mind.

Human Rights. It always pops up to protect the criminals. I just hope that the Government come to realise that to protect the guilty in this way is always at the cost of the innocent. After all innocent mermbers of the public have no need of Human Rights, do they? >:(

And this particular guy could easily find another gym. Lets face it, he wants to use that one because the school children go there, in my opinion. Even if he restrains himself and doesn`t commit a crime, it`s what`s going through his mind that upsets me. If my child went to that school, I would respectfully request that they be allowed NOT to go to the gym, or else I would pull them out of the school and go elsewhere. Simple as that.

Hopefully some sensible parents will do just that. >:(

Don`t the management of public buildings have the right to refuse admittance without giving a reason? Couldn`t they just refund his membership and ask him not to return to the property?

Credo!

public buildings this is a misconception that people often have, there is no such thing as a building is always owned... however some places the public are allowed access, sometimes on payment or not... such as pubs, clubs, shops... i have this converstaion almost ona nightly basis after some inebriated fool has been ejected from licensed premises and wants to go back in, so what do they do they call us... I soon put them right! and send them packing, usually making sure they dont go in any other premises by way of the radio!!!

I don`t understand this human rights lark.As far as i can see in every case there are two sides who are having their rights "abused".In this case his right to use the gym and the rights of all parents whose kids use the place. One cancels the other out so no case!.
Again another example, Farmer runs farm for years, housing estate built next door.House owner takes farmer to court over noise/smell as it infringes his right to a quiet/smell free life. Also infringes farmers right to carry on the trade he has been doing for years. One cancels other so no case.
For some reason in this land only one side is taken in each case so isn`t that infringing the other parties rights?. :/
