future

can any one help me and tell me what i would need to study at college to become a guitar technician and if that will provide a decent career that i can live off. been playing for 8 years and would love to spend all day fiddling with them, love fixing things and i cant think of a better thing to fix. any help much appreciated

is it actual branding?,

yep, it is. me and my friend sthought it would be a good idea if two of us got branded with a red hot poker we made ourselfs, we steralized everything and it came out as a clean scar, it hurt but it was fun. :D

RE: Any musicians offer some advice

the epiphone lp special is a very good indtrument for only £100 but you would need to get an amp, you can get a marshall mg10cd for aroudnd 50 and the two make a fairly good combonation.

i have been playing for around 8 years and i currnetly have a dean dime-o-flage, epiphone sg 400, a 1955 martin d28 that has been passed down trhough my family, around 4 really crap acoustics and a guiar i built my self called ` the gimp`. for amps i have a zack wylde signiture mini sc=tack and the mg10cd i mentioned.for effects i use a zoom 505 and a digitec d12.

if you are only just starting out eko are quite cheap so you dont loose too much money if you decide you dont want to play or you dont have time.
guitar does take a lot of time and effort to learn.
best of luck, hope you get good.

who would you be if you could?

if you could be one person for one day, dead or alive, in whatever period of their life who would you be and why?

i`d be Matt Heafy from trivium when they had just started getting big so i could hear people chanting my name at shows and get to live the life of a metal legend and he is an amazing guitarist.

RE: What makes you cringe???

i cant even be in the same room as polysterine or cotton woll and have a phobia of glitter.
i hate the sound of that magic foam/rubber type stuff you get in the top of some board games rubbing against smooth metal, it makes me feel sick. and that towel thing

Why does it have to be a boy?

because if a girl does the screaming thing it scares me and we need a deeper manly tone for our songs. nothing sexist just a girl can`t really do what we would need her to.

RE: what songs do you want to hear?

This item was edited on Monday, 7th April 2008, 19:26

what songs do you want to hear?

i am wondering if you could tell me, if you saw a band live what would you like to hear? what songs are classics and do you still love to hear no matter how much they are played? i am trying to create a good set list for a band that i recently have taken managememt of and would apritieate any comments about songs that are vital for a band to play......
thank you

RE: Guitar, Drum newbies........

you may have used the wrong guage strings for you guitar, i had this problem a while ago.
take it to the guitar shop and the magic guitar pixies will tell you the right guage for you.
