Page 1 of Is this a scam??

The missus received a phone call before and was told over the phone that she had won a holiday to Spain , Portugal or France...all expenses paid etc! She was told to phone a 0800 number to check the details but when ringing this number she is greeted with a message saying that `this number is not in service`!?

I believe that it is indeed a scam. Bastards!! >:(

if you didnt enter a contest and they have just randomly phoned you it is definatley a scam, you never get something for nothing

Scam - either that or they were phoning to see if you were in so they could come and rob you!

Thats just it. I asked the other half if she entered the competition and she just replied back saying that she enters so many competitions she can`t remember!!?!

My wife got a similar call from a company informing her that she`d won a holiday for 4 to Spain. Turns out she filled out an entry form at the Motor Show in London.

However she/we have to go to a presentation to get our tickets (which arent free but £30 each!) so the whole things a con!

Can`t you google the number and see what comes up?

Im not too worried about that. When the number was dialed we were greeted with a `This number is not in service`. Hopefully were ok...I hope!? :/
