General Forum
i am wondering if you could tell me, if you saw a band live what would you like to hear? what songs are classics and do you still love to hear no matter how much they are played? i am trying to create a good set list for a band that i recently have taken managememt of and would apritieate any comments about songs that are vital for a band to play......
thank you
RE: what songs do you want to hear?
What kind of band/music? (e.g. Rock? Indie? Blues?)

November Rain & Welcome to the Jungle.... Guns & Roses, already seen them once but would love to see them again!
`i am going to live forever or die trying`
Are you asking what covers you`d like to see a cover band do? I wouldn`t. I don`t mind if I see a band, and they do 1 cover.
Unless it`s a tribute band, I saw a beatles tribute band who were great, as were a Jam tribute band I saw once, but I wouldn`t want to see a contemporary one.

Anything off Claptons Me & Mr Johnson album would be a good starting point.

Come up and see me.... Daydream Believer... I`m A Believer (Shrek version).... Alice... and strangley .... Wonderful Tonight....

In the south west you can`t beat the seeing The Reoffenders for punk classic & modern (& some other stuff, that you wouldnt expect to see punked up, like Terry Jacks - Seasons in the sun) or Kiss This! for late 70`s & early 80`s though they now include things like Parklife & usually finish the night with Mr Blue Sky\End of Bohemian Rhapsody, I personally prefer KT! over TR by a narrow margin.
Saw a band called Audious Maximus recently brilliant covers of metal & rock including Asia`s - Only time will tell.
All of them play every 3 months or so down my local pub, though they play bigger venues as well (Roll on June for KT!).
OK the list
Buggles - Video killed the radio star
Gary Numan - Cars
Blondie - Anything except Rapture
The Knack - My Sharona
Kim Wilde - Checkered Love & Kids in America
SLF - At The Edge
The Jam - Anything
Ultravox - One small day (my personal favorite for feeling better when feeling blue)
Sham 69 - Hurry up Harry
Sex Pistols - Anachy in the UK & Pretty vacent
Stranglers - No more heroes
Blur - Parklife
The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love & Should I Stay or Should I Go
The Clash - London Calling
The Rezillos - Top of the Pops
The Ruts - Babylons Burning
Teardrop Explodes - Reward
Tenpole Tudor - Swords of a Thousand Men
The Toy Dolls - Nellie the Elephant
Transvision Vamp - I Want Your Love
The Undertones - My Perfect Cousin & Teenage Kicks
Boomtown Rats - I don`t like Mondays
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell & White Wedding
The Damned - Eloise
Nena - 99 Red Balloons
Joan Jet & The Blackhearts - I love Rock n Roll
The Bangles - Walk like an Egyptian
Anything with a bit of life in it really.
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
