RE: SONIX 26" LCD Panel for £499 at Sainsburys

Hey all,

Is this a generic model?

Only I found this www.inter-shop.dk/shop/default.asp?ProductID=7111 orion LB2600. Specs are on this site, any idea if it`s the same (there is a picture which may give a clue)?

KFC (READ THE WARNING)

Hello all,

In keeping with the Nestle thread and the thread about the poor rabbit I think this video about KFC`s chickens should be seen.

The site is owned by PETA (yes I know they can go a bit far on animal rights in some situations) but the nature of this is, I think, very important.

<b>This link contains a site which hosts very graphic video of cruelty to animals. (I hope it is not against the forum rules, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) </b>http://www.peta.org/feat/moorefield/

Never will I eat in a KFC again.

RE: A good value laptop???? Any suggestions????

Clearly the issue with your Compaq was not a hardware issue, but a Windows install issue. Likely to have been caused by installing naff software (bargin buddy fan `eh?).

Mac`s are great, I have a powerbook, but the OS is more for an idiot than Windows, it`s very very dumb user based generally (until you start coding etc. or using the advanced features of the Unix system).

Personally speaking it depends what you want to do with the machine. OSX runs like a pile of dogs in terms of speed vs Windows for standard navigation through the OS but OSX does tend to look nicer. The claim that OSX doesn`t crash isn`t true, I have the screen shots to prove it can and does!

What I really hate is Mac (and windows - though to a lesser extent) users trying to convert everyone by going `nar nar nar this is better than that in everyway. It isn`t the case, play with both OS`s and see what suits you best!

RE: Virus troubles

First port of call,

START, RUN, MSCONFIG --> Disable anything that does not need to run at startup. The viruses on Windows Machines exploit the fact you can set them to start on...erm well startup. Disable the uneeded - if your not sure search in http://www.google.com for the name of the startup item. Usually you can itentify what it is from this. Restart the machine when prompted.

Next open you virus scan and run that again. If it can`t remove them then be sure that they are not running. Ctrl, Alt, Del and look at what is running.

If not might I suggest you purchase a copy of the superb Norton Antivirus, or at least a trial version from their web site :)

Need any help mail me here!

RE: High back Leather chairs £ 29.99 + V.A.T

RE: Digi Boxes on the cheap

I went to Rod Hulls funeral.....Good funeral, reception wasn`t up to much though ;)

RE: printer question

In IE5+, Click File, Page Setup and select A4.

RE: Installing new operating system - do I format first?

Yes format, it`s not worth patching over an old windows. If you got the upgrade though you need an old windows CD as well.

And no it wont effect partition magic, though be sure to format the correct part.

RE: DVD-R/DVD RAM £119.99 +VAT AND DEL @ EBUYER

I say don`t trust a man who uses a Pipex ADSL service ;)

RE: Samsung 19

If anyone can find the 191t let me know. I did post that DigiUK had it a while back but no one can get stock of it :(

Regards

RE: JUST too far away for ADSL - anyone got any top tips?

Is the distance from the exchange you quote the line length - or as i suspect the physical difference? If the latter then the chances are you are on the end of the loop which explains the problem with the line length.

You may be able to pay for an engineer to test the line exactly, though I do not know if BT a) would do it b) how much it would cost.

RE: PC Monitor Starts....and then goes into standby

The irony is humiliating to yourself. At the least my origional post was relevent and then flamed down by you. I couldn`t read all the post fully as I havent the time and I must have misread it. How it offends you I have no idea.

For hells sake dvdreviewer is in such a crap condition at the moment. No wonder most of the regulars left and only pop in from time to time.

Tis a sad sad time.

RE: Terrorists doing us a BIG favour.........

What the hell has happened to dvdreviewer recently? The language on this board is poor, with reference to some of the first posts in this thread.

Not like it used to be.

RE: Disabled Parking

In that case the powers are wrong. In this age the car is essential to ALL especially people who live and work in the deep country.

Buses are unreliable, crowed places. Also disabled people can work as well. Surley this is descrimination against the abled bodied?

RE: PC Monitor Starts....and then goes into standby

Most likely cause is the PC`s refresh rate being to high, turn it down to the standard 50hz/60hz try again. If it fixes the problem turn it up to about 85hz and try again. Depends on size and monitor....would explain why you can see bios (not activated first display device) and then it pops off.

RE: Disabled Parking

Read what is said and parking in disabled bays is wrong but answer me this. WHy do disabled people not have to pay parking charges? I get stung to it and I have to park further away. Now I know what I say isn`t PC but its true.

Any thoughts?
