You don`t need a licence to read BBC news online

It is partly funded through the TV license though.

this is why the godawful acts look so shocked when they`re chucked off stage, they`ve got it into their heads that since they`ve got past the first set of judges, they must have something approaching talent.

LOL I hadn`t thought of it like that.

RE: Britian`s Got Talent

I`m not suggesting she, or any of them can`t sing well, but if they are that good, why do they do they overdub and lip sync with a subsequent, studio recording. They did it last year as well. I`d rather hear it warts and all.

It`s a fun show, but I wish they wouldn`t try to kid us into thinking that the s***e acts get to see the judges without having gone through large scale auditions months in advance. The stupid shocked looks on the celeb judges are wearing thin.

Unlocked iPhone - What happens when iTunes tries to update...?

Hello,

As the title says really, when Tunes updates it (or tries to, can I stop it?), will I no longer have a unlocked iPhone?

Hope someone knows.

RE: How do I play DVD-Audio on my PC?

Hello,

There are two essential things you need as a minimum; A 5.1 soundcard and playback software with DVD-Audio capablities (CyberLink Power-DVD (not the freebie one) does it for example)

These will give you the surround, but you will still need a good SW and great speakers to get the full affect.

Hope this helps,

Neil.

RE: McLaren Lose Gp Appeal

Reread the post mate, I stated that the WDC/WCC result would be forever tainted.

That`s not a punishment, they had nothing taken and we`re given everything. Don`t be so paranoid. :)
Quote:
I guess the teams all confided in you and made honest/frank admissions then eh

Of course they weren`t being honest and frank, but even the Bridgestone engineers were p***ed off with Ferrari for essentially stopping any tyre competition by forcing the single tyre manufacturer rule. (Do you think that Ferrari had no influence over this?).
Quote:
Considering they have won so many WDC/WCC in the last decade I think the word "Peer" may not be the most accurate description of their competition

Some stats to remind you that F1 is more than a decade old.
Last 10 years. 60% WCC (Incl 2007)
Previous 10 years 0% WCC
Previous 10 years 10% WCC
Peers is fine I think. :D

Let`s hope everything is better next season and it`s down to the stuff on the track.

That`s not punishment.

will always be painted as the bad guys by those who dislike them and the championships will be devalued by their opponents

Nor is that.

I spent a day at an F1 testing day in the summer and was lucky enough to talk to engineers from various teams.
Ferrari have no friends amongst their peers.

RE: Moving up to a digital SLR camera...

Hello,

I went through the same thoughts as you when moving from a good p+s camera to a DSLR. Well, I bought a D40 and took it home feeling really nervous and hoping I hadn`t wasted my cash. Even though every review said a DSLR will beat any (most) p+s cameras, I was still worried.
I chose the D40 on reviews and price only and accepted the perceived limitation on lens choice (I say perceived, because I couldn`t afford any other lenses anyway, so the limitation didn`t affect me).

I took some snaps and the p+s just can`t live with DSLR at all...the lighting, sharpness, features, clarity and the batttery life, made it a bargain as far as I am concerned. The D40 is available under £300 now too.
Some will argue pay more for the D80, or even the D40x, If I could have, I would have, but am am delighted with the D40.
I struggle to find any bad reviews of any DSLRs, the Canons, Olympus and Pentax entry level DSLRs all get great reviews too.

RE: Powerpoint Help please

There is a free-text draw/write function while in a presentation. If you move your mouse to the bottom left hand corner, a `pen` option appears.

Hope this is what you meant.

RE: Excel filtering help required

Advanced filtering is probably the correct tool.

I think I would use a vlookup though. Use vlookup to identfy the records, then the autofilter to select only the differences

I would place the formula alongside each record on each report and allow it to select where its matches are on the respective reports. Then filter the #N/As or the matches as you prefer.

I hope that makes sense. I`m sure some other peeps may have a better way though...

RE: early 90`s cavalier - hazard warning light problem

Hello,

I had the same problem too. My local Vauxhall dealer swapped the actual switch for the one used in the Nova, and I never had the problem again.
It`s not a perfect fit, and it looked a bit odd, but it solved the problem.

You say that like it`s a bad deal!

:) Oops it did sound a a bit ungreatful...I`ll enjoy it whatever they show us, but I`d love to get close and see the cars and take lots of photos etc...

RE: McLaren F1 hearing result.

On a slightly different subject, I`m off to Jerez next Thursday on a corporate day out with Honda F1 Racing on one of their testing days.
Does anyone know what these type of thing are like, how close can you get to the cars and the drivers?
Hopefully it`ll be really close, but I wouldn`t be surprised if they just feed us, give us booze and then watch the cars from the stands :-(

RE: McLaren F1 hearing result.

If all the top secret information that they stole from Ferrari is worth $100,000,000 and the seasons` points...how come Ferrari (who presumably have all the valuable info!) aren`t miles ahead in the championship by now?

Luckily, there`s a posting in the bargain buckets forum for a cheapo Canon printer so I`ve reserved one at Argos.
