McLaren Lose Gp Appeal

Andy c (Elite) posted this on Friday, 16th November 2007, 19:50

Mclarens appeal against the result of the Brazillian Gp has been rejected by the FIA.
They ruled the appeal against BMW and Williams was inadmissable.
Well that comes as a big surprise! :o

One of the reasons being given by the FIA is (paraphrased :) )

Both Williams and BMW claimed that as McLaren had not appealed the stewards decision at the time the matter was raised their appeal should be inadmissable. Four independent judges agreed :)

Still a tawdry way for the season to end. Though I am a Ferrari fan I feel that no matter the outcome of the Spygate/Fuelgate both the major teams have been punished. McLaren by the loss of potential TV revenue and loss of pit facilities and Ferrari who whilst winning both the WDC and the WCC will always be painted as the bad guys by those who dislike them and the championships will be devalued by their opponents (McLaren mostly).
As I said, poor end to a great season.

Still the good news is

KIMI WDC 2007 :D :D :D

Amen to common sense.

The strange thing is in all this not one report questioned the extraordinary high ambient temp that weekend. With track temps of over 60 centigrade.

That`s not punishment.

Nor is that.

I spent a day at an F1 testing day in the summer and was lucky enough to talk to engineers from various teams.
Ferrari have no friends amongst their peers.

Reread the post mate, I stated that the WDC/WCC result would be forever tainted .

I guess the teams all confided in you and made honest/frank admissions then eh :D

PEERS

Considering they have won so many WDC/WCC in the last decade I think the word "Peer" may not be the most accurate description of their competition :D :D

That`s not a punishment, they had nothing taken and we`re given everything. Don`t be so paranoid. :)

Of course they weren`t being honest and frank, but even the Bridgestone engineers were p***ed off with Ferrari for essentially stopping any tyre competition by forcing the single tyre manufacturer rule. (Do you think that Ferrari had no influence over this?).

Some stats to remind you that F1 is more than a decade old.
Last 10 years. 60% WCC (Incl 2007)
Previous 10 years 0% WCC
Previous 10 years 10% WCC
Peers is fine I think. :D

Let`s hope everything is better next season and it`s down to the stuff on the track.

Neil.
