TINY "LAPTOP DVD PLAYER"

I`m toying with the idea of getting a laptop style DVD player from Tiny Computers, but I`m just wondering if it can be hacked for multi-region use or what?
It`s their own make, or are there any players of this type that can be modified?
cheers in advance guys!!

RE: Whats the last DVD everyone bought?

ThE Mummy & T2 Ultimate editions, Bon Jovi Crush tour (all R1) from DVDBO. R1 ROOLS!!!!!!!!

Philips 711/712 & MP3 ?!?!?!

I know it might be a little bit premature, but the Philips DVD 712 is due for release, & the only main difference to the 711 that I can see is that it plays MP3 discs, my question is this: Does anyone know if we will be able to upgrade our 711`s to play MP3 or not?
Just curious. Cheers for any info, guys.

RE: l just saw PEARL HARBOR

"the attack on Pearl, is just over midway through, "

Wasn`t Midway a diffrent Battle altogether? (just kidding!)

VHS to VCD?!?!?!?!?!?

I hate to ask silly questions, but how do-able is this, if at all? There`s just so much I have on VHS that until I can get them all on DVD, I thought I could transfer it all to VCD for now.
Any help, lists of equipment or names of a good doctor for asking such a question will be very gratefully taken.

Cheers in advance guys

RE: phillips 711 macrovision disable?

apparently, the one for all 6 hack does, but not to my findings! unless I`m doing something wrong because I used this hack, but I`m still getting macro type interference. Any help welcome from me too.

RE: slightly off subject but do read - please avoid Samsung televisions !

For a start hewas trying to take the p*** out of you asking for the extra dosh, just cos the price had gone up, that wasn`t your fault.Regardless what the price is now, you shouldn`t have to pay any extra for exactly the same piece of kit (good job you didn`t-tell me you didn`t).Secondly my 28" WS Sammy hasn`t had any probs yet with my Philips 711, all very good indeed. Just thopught I`d let you know about the money thing really, because your rights state you are entitled to a replacement for faulty goods, not "yes you can have another one, but by the way the price has gone up, more dosh please!!!" Great customer service that is, I`d get a right bollocking for that one.

RE: Terminator 2:Ultimate Edition - Region 2

latest date is october, but it`s not going to be exactly th e same as R1 (apparently!)

RE: Is there an old firmware versions for the 711 that gets rid of macrovision?

you`ll be lucky to get an answer here, I`m sick of trying!

macrovision knock-out!!!

does anyone know how to disable macro on the philips 711. I read that the one for all 6 hack does this, but I don`t think it does, unless I`ve connected up wrong!!!!

DVD - VHS Connections Philips 711

what`s the best way to connect this player o a VHS machine, (purely for personal use you understand!!!)
I`ve tried a few ways, sound is OK, picture OK, but colour darkens & returns all the time. This doesn`t make the resulting copy totally unwatchable, just bloody annoying after a whie.

Cheers in advance

philips 711, photos on cd, how???

i`ve got a Philips 711 , now then, I want to put photo slide-shows onto CDR, & view them on my DVD. I read you can do it with that nero burning software, does it have to be nero, or can I do it using MGI 4??
Cheers in advance guys!

RE: Philips 711

I bought my 711 months ago, used the one4all hack, no probs.
P.S. RCE not a problem, I`ve got "hollow man"!!!!!!!
Enjoy, friends

RE: Is Kelly`s Heroes on DVD ????

if not, get tthe modern-day version, (Three Kings, obviously!!!!)

DVD - VHS Connections

I stumbled across a review for the Philips 711 elsewhere on this site, & was quite surprised to read this bit,
" It seems the region hack disables Macrovision (I have made many good recordings ((for my own use!)) onto VHS without problems). "
I tried this, but the picture was less than excellent, (s***e actually!), so I was wondering what`s the best way of connecting up for doing this?
Cheers in advance

THE PHANTOM MENACE!!!!!!

Does anyone know if there`s any truth in the whisper of a three-disc edition of " STAR WARS - Episode 1" by the end of this year?

RE: which philips

Philips 711, without a doubt, fully region hacked, RCE proof, plays all music cd`s without a problem, & at only £179 a bargain!

RE: What player do you have, so I can work out the which players have sold the most.

I have a Philips 711 very pleased with it too. 3 Friends have Samsung 509`s.

RE: DO THESE CODES HAVE TO BE RE-ENTERED EVERY TIME?

Ditto, Philipss 711 here, one hack entry, full region capabilities (no macro off though!).

Philips 711 RCE proof!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news, I can play "Hollow Man", which is apparently RCE infected, on my Philips 711, so up yours USA!
Also, while I`m here, does anyone know if there`s a way of playing MP3 discs on this machine?

RE: RCE does the disk swap hack work?

I`m not sure, cos my Philips 711 turns out to be RCE proof, LUCKY BASTARD!!
glad to be of help anyway

RE: buying from abroad region 1?

if you buy from
www.dvdboxoffice.com
there`s a currency converter on the site, just tell it you want to view all prices in BRITISH POUNDS, and off you go! Also, there`s FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: RCE does the disk swap hack work?

I came across this article on another site, & thought it`d be interesting reading for the rest of you!

"Hollow Man is the third disc to include the RCE program designed to prevent discs from one region being played on machines in another. The others are Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000) and The Patriot (2000), all released by Columbia Tri-Star.

Warner Brothers were also reported as having been on board with the RCE scheme. But according to a source at one of the big e-retailers in the US, Warners were closely monitoring online reaction amongst the various DVD websites when The Patriot was released last October. As it quickly became apparent that most DVD players could easily bypass RCE, Warners pulled their support leaving poor old Columbia Tri-Star to go it alone. Now we stress that this is just rumour but it is interesting in light of the fact that Warners has released no RCE-encoded titles to date. "

LG DVD hacks

i would be grateful for any information regarding multi-region hacks for an LG DVD player, I`m not too sure of the model nuber, but a hack works on most models in a range anyway.
Thanks in advance!

Philips DVD711 macrovision

not that I want to get up to anything slightly naughty, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten any further on the macrovision hack for the Philips 711, or any other remote control shortcuts
