RE: RECORDING ON A TECHNIKA DVDR 2005

Hi Graham

Try a different DVD disk as it is known that the Tesco DVD disks can be a problem.
Sent all my Tesco DVD`s back as they would not work in a Misco DVD recorder.

I have used Sony & Bulkpaq DVD`s and had no problems as long as you don`t try and over fill the DVD. (watch the record time)

PS R U the GS from West London Area??

RE: Recommend me a DivX DVD Player...

I agree with the "TheOgster" as it does all that it say`s on the box, quality is good and play`s DIVX. It can lock up when Xvid is tried, It`s happy with any region straight out the box.
Slim and neat for the price. No problem of noise or fans running. nearly plays every thing that I throw at it.
Aldi had a recorder that was Divx but thats seems to be like rocking horse S**t at the stores.
Hope this helps.

RE: hack for Tesco`s technika PDVD2005

Hi Zam

Yes they will play and record DVD+RW no problem at all... seem to a few lock up problems when playing DIVX and a reboot is necessary.. not 100% with all the new formats of Divx and Xvid coming out, but it play all things I want it too.

RE: technika

Hi Not sure if you resolved this problem as it`s a setting that you need to change from 5.1 sound to 2 channel. Do this without a disc in.
see this link.
It works.

Well Done - Tesco/Technika/Yamada - again.

Hope it works for you.

RE: Tescos DVD-r s

Sorry to hear that you had the same problem that I had with the Tesco Brand DVD+R, recorded OK on the PC but locked up the DVD recorder when trying to record each time, took them back and got my money back.. if I still have any -R`s they can go back and get my refund. :>)
Thanks for the notice, they looked good value when they were on offer.

RE: Tesco CDRs and DVDs

Sorry to hear you had similar problems as I had. I took mine back and they refunded the money, but I don`t think they will do anything further with them unless they get lots of complaints, then they may listen.
Sorry but nomore Tesco DVD`s for me.

RE: Tesco CDRs and DVDs

Adrian

Thanks for the feed back as I had a DVD "Tesco" that jittered and tried other recordings at a slower speed and it seems to be OK.

Given up wasting disks on the DVD recorder and will use them on the PC till they have gone.
Think and email to Tesco might help in feed back, as they don`t write at the speed they claim like other 8x disks, let you know how I get on.

Update 27/4/05: Tesco complaints department replied to email from their website and advised return disks to store, complete complaints form and use registration complaint no. and then they will look into the problem further. Tried the second pack (2 for 1) and same fault happen wrote for 1 minute and locked up DVD recorder. Not just a box of DVD`s problem.
Would be interested if anybody elses has had problems using these DVD`s with a DVD recorder. 28/4/05

RE: Tesco CDRs and DVDs

****** Problem with + R DVD`s *******************

Purchased some +R DVD from Tesco and had no problem on DVD burner but my DVD Recorder (Nico R311) failed every time with these, it would record a few seconds then lock up freeze frame and show disk error.
Tested DVD recorder with my reliable Bulkpaq +R and no problems.
May be the machine is fussy but these DVD`s don`t work for me.

Going to be taking them back if I don`t use them for the PC.

RE: Cello DIV-X DVD Player @ Sainsburys - only £34.99

Found that Sainsburys (Savacentre) Reading J12 M4 had 5 in stock and took the plunge for my second Divx player. It worked straight out the box, regions 1,2 & 4 all OK. Great for £35 Quid
The software is the same as the Yamada 6600 which I have.
I think it`s the same player in a smarter case with a similar better remote.

I note that the counter timer problem is the same as the early software version in the 6600 and their upgrade worked with the counter off as default.

Judder problem on a few Xvid films is the same as the 6600 so it looks like altering the AVI file is the only answer . http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/186739.php

I`m happy not to say the wife is.... :/

But I`m pleased with it. ;)

Yamada 6600 Divx Player £49.99 in WH Smiths

Spotted today that WH Smiths in Reading that the Yamada 6600 was on special offer £49.99, but my wife would let me purchase a second one >:(

I`ve been pleased with mine after the upgrade to version 4 and it plays everything that I seem to throw at it ;)
I know it is being replaced by the 6700 but it`s a great machine with the 5.1 sound I`m please anyway. :D

RE: RELISYS DVD Recorder for £89 @ STAPLES

Took at look at this recorder in Reading and looks OK with it`s 2 Scart inputs and 2 S video socket all on the back with the flap on the front to cover over the video and 2 audio inputs. For £90 it looks OK but would not win any glamour shows at that price you can`t complain.. would not want to make one for £90.
If you are searching for one of these, there is one in Reading.

Thanks for all the Bargin Buckets.

RE: LG - 15.1" Lcd Tv for £249.99 @ Argos

Hi DD

Glad somebody else got the benifit of Bargain Buckets!
Very pleased with it and the wife is as well (that`s even better :) ) the 1028x768 image I found great on Freeview and with a DVD splendid, extended warranty £69 for 5 years is not bad, so may cover it for the extra with what I saved.

Thanks for the feed back.

LG - 15.1" Lcd Tv for £249.99 @ Argos

Argos have been doing a promotion for the Bush LCD15TV 15in LCD TV in the national papers but I found they have had such a demand that they have substitued it for the LG RZ 15LA32 LCD TV. :) Shelf price shows £299.99 for the BUSH but LG on display, checking in store stock terminal shows £249.99 and the quantity in stock.
It`s brilliant using it Freeview via Scart and sound is good... check it out.

Found at Reading Argos Express they had 5 left.

RE: What is the best Divx dvd player?

Hi Bogstandard.... I`ve had the Yamada 6600 for 2 weeks pleased as punch with it, plays every thing that I thrown at it, even the wife likes it after I told her I`d bought it. :D

Only complaint is that TV & Surround sound remote clash with it and makes it jump when playing to different directory or chapter.

Sound into Surround Sound is great 5.1
You can find it on the web for about £69 or Maplin for £79.99. [url]www.maplin.co.uk[url]

It`s slim and it`s the dogs` what`s it`s.

RE: Yamada 6600 5.1 decoder???

:) Brillant machine Yamada 6600 played every thing that I have got on CD or DVD, even the wife likes it.... :D . Only want it now to be combined with a DVD recorder and it would be 110% more than one could dream of. Well worth the £70-£80.
Maplin doing it for £79.99 but you can save a few £ if you search the web.

RE: JVC DR-M1........is it hackable???

Hi not sure if you have a DR-M1 but I was trying to find out what people think of them as it looks about the type of recorder that would be suitable witout breaking the bank.

The seem`s to be very few reviews about compaired with reports on the cheap Mico unit on this forum.

Many thanks in advance.... Min.

RE: jvc dr m1 [dvd recorder]

Sorry can`t help with the hack... can you let me know what you think of the DR-M1 is it worth buying to replace the VCR and what`s it like to operate.

Many thanks.. Min.

RE: Has anyone bought a

Did you return it????

I was looking at the JVC DR-M1 and I`m trying to find reports good or bad on it as I want to connect to my Freeview box, some articals say there is a connection problem via scart???.. to Sky.

Your thoughts please and should I go for the Mico which seem a real cheap option but I fancy the RAM bit for replaying bits when watching F1.. Micro can`t do that.
What is compatability like for using the DVD`s on other DVD players... I have a 12 month Accoustic Sounds DVD player and wonder if the DVD would work.

Many thanks in advance.. Min.

RE: I NEED A HACK FOR MY JVC DR-M1 DVD RECORDER.

I sorry this is not a reply to your question, but what do you think of the JVC DR-M1. Not seen many reports on it, I`m looking at what is available, been told to avoid a major maker!

I plan to connect to my Freeview box and wonder if there is any problem you know of and if you find the quality of the DVD recorderings OK.

Many thinks for you help in advance.
