Tescos DVD-r s

Markybhoy (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 28th June 2005, 21:03

About 6-8 weeks ago tesco was selling their own brand dvds BOGOF. I bought a couple of packs for £9.99 at the time the offer was on. I used some of the first pack and found that they were`nt very good, many of my back-ups didnt play properly so I put the un-opened 25 spindle in the drawer. I uncovered this pack yesterday and took it back today and was given an exchange to the full value £9.99. I wonder if this is something that could be done with all the BOGOFs at Tesco? Not that I would take advantage of this loophole. ;)

80% of the first pack of discs did work, and I`ve now got 2 nice bottles of wine for the return of the un-opened one.

I got two packs of DVD+Rs from tescos and 2 packs of CD`s in that bogoff.

Ive had one out of about ten burns turn into coasters and all the DVDs ive burned play perfectly on my DVD player and PC. And the CD-Rs work fine in my car CD player and my home CD player.

I must be just lucky...............

I had a similar problem experience with TDK CD-R80 cdr`s from Tesco`s (25 spindle packs). Will only play intermittently on my Sony mp3/cd player in the car. Have to eject and try again 3 or 4 times - never had this problem before, regular cds play and previously burned Verbatim cdr`s play. Took the second bogof one back and same story to the poster but the first spindle of 25 used are so unpredictable as not to be a bargain.

I bought some plants there once, which were bogof, but they were actually 4.99 each, and then 4.99 off the bill. Thing was they were half dead and had been reduced to half price :D So i actually paid 2.49 x 2 (4.98) and got £4.99 deducted from the bill, so tesco owed me 1p for each pair i bought. I bought 20 plants! best deal i have ever had - the things just needed a bit of water. Tesco refused to give me my 10p though, but did let me take the plants for free :D :D

Sorry to hear that you had the same problem that I had with the Tesco Brand DVD+R, recorded OK on the PC but locked up the DVD recorder when trying to record each time, took them back and got my money back.. if I still have any -R`s they can go back and get my refund. :>)
Thanks for the notice, they looked good value when they were on offer.
