RE: Techtronics for a Pioneer 535?

Have you tried DVD Magic in Leicester?

RE: The farce that is Scan - Read and weep !!!!!

Hey Jimbo, the reason that Scan have three customers screaming in their ears is because they have no customer support. They are not just like this in December and January. I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past and let me tell you they will never receive a penny more from me or anyone that I can enlighten. If I sent something back to you that had failed (a hard drive) within it`s warranty period, what would you do? Repair it ? A hard drive? If I have proof that it has been received by you on Tuesday, why does it take you till bloody Friday to get off your arse and put power on it to prove it has crashed. Because you are too busy dealing with all the other substandard stuff that you have flogged to un-suspecting customers and basically you don`t give a damn.
Sorry about ranting. I know this is not YOU but it is SCAM! (intended).
People wise up. I have a whole catalogue of their cock ups. I used to wholeheartedly recommend them to friends and colleagues but every single order I ever made was messed up in some way. From little trivial things to the entire £500 order. Their ability to mismanage is un-paralleled.

RE: FAO nelley RE:Scan customer services

You could try ringing their `head` of `customer support` (actually the MD`s wife) Nisha (who I must admit seems to me to be a very nice lady). email me for the number (82leks[at]ku.oc.oohay) as I don`t think it would be fair of me to type it here no matter how bad Scan are.

RE: Have Scan taken a day`s holiday?

You have to realise, SCAN do not give a damn about you after they have your money. Good luck mate, do you pray?

RE: FAO nelley RE:Scan customer services

Good luck mate, I used to buy computer bits from Scan but their customer service is not second to none. It IS none. I never received emails back, calls back or postage refunds. They are CRAP. I implore everyone reading this to not use them. EVERY ORDER I EVER MADE FROM THEM WAS MESSED UP IN SOME WAY OR OTHER. WITHOUT FAIL. They even managed to debit my account for £500 or so quid for an order they did not deliver so I called in and they couldn`t refund me for a day and I couldn`t get the bits cos they`d cancelled the order. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT.

RE: Gladiator R2 Disc 2 problems

Plays perfick on the Pioneer 727

RE: PSX2

The problem with the PSX2 DVD playback (on the UK model) is that it does not use the RGB Scart cable. I defaults to a compostite output giving you a green picture. And here is the reply from Sony Technical (!) support. Quote "ummmmm does it?....." un-quote.
Yee ha way to go Sony.
So wants to buy it?

PlayStation 2 DVD Playback

Only tried Gladiator very briefly last night, but it was very nice.
Now how can I make it play R1..........

RE: SCAN versus YELO

Bought a Yelo, sound good picture pants.
Got a full refund.
Got a Pioneer, `nuff said.

RE: Now I want you all to be honest.

Ok then

TV - Sony 32" Widescreen Trinitron (I don`t know the model number!)
DVD - Pioneer 727 301 Disc Changer, NICE
Laserdisc - Pioneer (925 I think, cant` remember but my Star Wars and CLose Encounters look good on it!!)
AMP - Onkyo Tx-DS939, KICK ASS THX Certified Receiver.
Speakers - Jamo floorstanders for L/R (F), Wharfdale Modus Cubes for L/R (R), Wharfdale Centre, Aiwa active sub under center and a Kenwood active sub next to the sofa.
Sofa - DOH piece of crap from MFI!!

RE: Pioneer 727 setup?

The `advert` is on the players own text screen not the telly!
About 160 DVD`s so far.
Check your mail!
Jim

Pioneer 727 setup?

Evening all, can anyone help please?
I`ve bought a Pioneer 727 and the company that supplied it has changed the default text screen to be an advert for their company. I can`t seem to find how to change this in the manual. Anyone know of any info on it? Hidden menu`s etc.
Thanks
Jim
(ps I`d like it to say, Jim`s DVD of course!!)

RE: Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

No problemo. I`ve bought the 727.
WOW
Too much to take in all at once, chat to you later mate.
Jim

RE: Budget DVD Player or not?

Hi, I`ve had a Pioneer 414 for over a year now, modded of course. Picture beautiful. But I was tempted by the lure of MP3 and macro etc etc. I bought a Yelo. Many problems. Plus picture quality was noticeably poorer. Got refund on Yelo and with that and the money from selling the 414 I bought a Pioneer 727. Major indulgance! Back to superb picture and RCE, it can kiss my butt! Big thing though, it actually holds 301 discs. (well 130 more till I fill it).
It`s up to you, if you are satisfied with your player then fine. But I was spoiled by the superior picture from my Pioneer.
Check one out, you won`t be disappointed.
Cheers
Jim

RE: Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

Cheers
Jim

RE: My Amp is better than yours (Comparison Compo 2)

Hi Ho, my amp is an Onkyo TX-DS939 (if anyone cares).
I bought it when I was working in Saudi Arabia about two years ago.
The UK price at the time was £3000 and I paid the equivalent of £1417.
It is UK spec even with a 3 pin plug!
British prices a rip off, never....
Ah the follies of my youth!
Mind you, sounds superb (even if the remote looks pants)
Cheers now.
Jim

RE: Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

Cheers mate, looking at the 727 actually. Will hold 300 DVD`s.
Anyone seen or used one? There`s a shop in Leicester (about 20 miles from me), no names no advertising, selling it modded for £599.
Sounds reasonable.

RE: Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

I`ll take all of your advice thank you and get my money back.
I think I will keep my Pioneer 414 after all. Or is there a new Pioneer on the block worthy of considering.
Thanks for all your advice I do appreciate it.

RE: Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

I have been offered a full refund on the Yelo, is it the general opinion then that I should take it?

Yelo 800 DVD player and Blade R2

Anyone tried this combination yet. My mate has tried the disc on two players and it makes them go mental. Almost as if infected by a computer virus! He is getting a refund on the disc and not a replacement so we will not know if it is isolated or not.....
Blade R1 is perfect btw
Cheers
