Now I want you all to be honest.
Right I was wonder how many of you yobbos out there can safely say that they have the full DVD "kit", i.e., player, widescreen tv (big one), dolby digital bits and a big fat sofa. Obviously you lot here at DVD reviewer will have a tasty setup to review films on but is it actually that common to have "the lot"? I thought of this when I realised how poor I really am (in debt) and that it would take me ages to upgrade my 14" tv to....um...anything really. Go on guys, tell me what kit you have or ill kill you. Mercy buckets.
And we promise no detours to Planet Bollox this time, Blazin` !
Player : Encore DV450 (pants)
Widescreen TV : Sanyo 28" widescreen - (er, pants)
Sofa : £40 from me mate Ben
Speakers : JPW Mini Monitors (yup, pants)
Subwoofer : Eltax Atomic A8 (cool)
Amp : Yamaha DSPA5 (le bollox du chien - jewel in the crown, mate)
If you can afford it, Blazin`, get yerself down to your local Co-op dept store or to Martin Dawes - you should be able to get a good rental deal on a 24" widescreen jobby. My TV is rented, thank goodness, so I will upgrade (probably to a Hitachi, much to Dukey`s delight) when the time is right.
Do NOT rent from either Radio Rentals or Granada on the understanding they are in competition with each other - they are not. They have been merged since July, as Radio Rentals kindly informed me on Saturday (the washing machine is rented too you see), and now call themselves boxclever (funky lower case lettering, but still s***e)....
Promise not to kill me now ?
RE: Now I want you all to be honest.
clayts!
With that setup!
What the hell are you doing with such a sexy Amp?
HITACHI 505 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
Duke, it convinces me that the rest of it is sexy too.
Now stop prevaricating and answer the man`s question before you get us both killed.....
RE: Now I want you all to be honest.

RE: Now I want you all to be honest.
Ay up Blazin` I can safely say i have the "full kit"
TV: Hitachi 32" Widescreen,(Great TV, takes RGB a treat)
Player: Pioneer DV525,(Basic but does the job)
Amp: PioneerVSX709RDS(Optically connected to DVD)
Speakers: Yamaha NSP210(5+sub, crackers for £140)
Sofa: Oh dear, run of the mill 3 piece
Well theres the kit and all works in harmony, to me, the dogs danglies, don`t know what ya missin. Go on get yer self more in debt as i did and treat yourself, but firstly start with getting a proper telly.

RE: Now I want you all to be honest.
Blazin`
I have:
DVD = LG3200
TV = Sanyo 28in (square telly but has 2 scart sockets great for the Play too) Working on the widescreen !
Sofa is a big leather mother, which is great for the ladies and the oil and the sorry side tracked........
Basically the setup sounds weak in comparison to the other regulars but I just wanted to get into DVD`s and wait and see what comes around the corner.....
