the death of blu ray ?????

so i was wondering around a local ye old car boot sale this morning and as usual there were the dvd pirates splashed over the first few rows when i then noticed that they were selling pirate blu ray disks as well as there standard stuff.
i thought one of the reasons studios were signing up to this format was because of the complications in pirating the movies and the fact it would not be worth copying them due to the high prices of the disks.
with the price of these things so high in the shops and now the pirates getting there hands on them i think the format could have a problem.

samsung le37r87bdx lcd tv .....keeps swithcing itself over.......any ideas..

hi there. have got the samsung le37r87bdx tv. and over the last month or so every so often the tv will turn itself over to a diffrent source.
at first i thought someone must have sat on the handset or something but have lately realised that this is not the case, i have changed the batteries but it has made no diffrence.
basically i can be playing the 360 or watching a movie and it will suddenly turn over which as you can imagine is a pain in the butt.
its not yet a regular occurance it just kind of does it out of the blue i think it might have something to do with turning the cable off then watching something else as that seems to have been the sequence of events the last couple of times it has happened.
anyone got any ideas or even had the same problem

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SEASON 4 ON DVD........is this the full series?

seen this for pre order on both amazon and play, its out in october for £24.99 but i cant find any info on it.

the problem i have is that it says its on 4 disks and usually there are about six, does anyone know how many episodes there should be and it if they are all included, or is this going to be a part one thing?

a few questions about ps3 i assume they are not 1:1 so you wont get the pic in pic, and i heard that there was a problem with it playing various titles....any truth in this.
as for it being upgradeable what is it that needs upgrading?

do blue ray movies show if they are region free or not? for example if you buy a disk from the usa will it say region a+b+c or do you need to look it up on the net before you buy :D.

i only ask because i was looking into getting a player later in the year and i will be going to the usa in a few months and was thinking of picking up a few titles. 8)

flashing pixels on samsung tv....any ideas??

i got a 37" samsung tv a r87 series and i am having problems with flashing pixels on the screen.
i does not happen all the time but i get it 6 or 7 times during some movies but not at all on others. the dvd player is a samsung upscaler connected through the hdmi port, i have tried a diffrent player and used a scart but still have the same problem.
it also happens on tv but not that often mainly channel 4 logo and various adverts, the link gives an example.
i have adjusted settings (pretty much all of them) but i was wondering if anyone else had experianced the same problems with this tv.

I was only reading his book a few weeks ago and could not believe the amount of my favorite movies he had a hand in making,
the obvious alien predator jurassic park but even monster squad and innerspace.... stan winston has had a hand in making a great percentage of my dvd collection. :(

been on live for a couple of years and to be honest i can,t believe that this is the first time you have come across it. to be fair with me its usually americans and usually involves your mother but i normally just change the people i play with.

3 families going to florida whats the best way to keep in touch, ie mobile etc ?

so we are off to florida in november and have two other families who are also going but we all have diffrent hotels,

the plan is to get in touch while over there and have a few days out together, origionaly my dad thought he could use his mobile but he tried it in barbados earlyer this year and it didnt work.

at the moment we could phone each others hotel the night before or i have been told to try wallmart as soon as we get there and get a couple of cheap pay as you go mobiles, would this work?

so as i said anyone got any ideas thanks.. :)

well to update i saw it then took my five year old saturday morning and he loved it.....

the end credits rolled and then we got up and he legged it out of the cinema and burst out of the doors singing the indiana jones music at the top of his voice, it was awesome to see how much he enjoyed it.

personally regarding scary moments, compared to the other movies this one was tame.

i remember watching the making of revenge of the sith.......for all the cgi you knew was involved i was suprised to see that one persons job was to simply go through every fame with c3po in it and airbrush the reflection of the camera crew from his gold plating. :D

saw it this morning with the wife and and absoloutly loved it. as the credits were rolling i could not believe we were in the cinema in 2008 watching an indiana jones movie. :D

yea there were a few ott moments but the other indy movies had them too, these whole movies are about escapism so you just go with it.

i would say it fitted nicely with the other movies and as for the ratings, i thought it was as good as crusade but still rate raiders the best with doom second.

lets face it 20 yrs after crusade this film should not be this great.

although, i was expecting a cameo form kate capshaw...i had read a few yrs ago that no matter how many times the script had changed one scene where the two girls met was kept in and was realy funny.....what happened to that.

look i have no problem with a rating system, but if you think the bbfc have a better understanding of what your child should or should not see better than a parent then thats your problem. i can not be any more responsable than checking out this film first before letting him see it.
besides the bbfc have agreed its ok for a child to see it if they are with there parents and that all i wanted to clear up...so thanks :)
and yeas indiana jones lego is on pre-order.

didnt ask for an opinion i asked if you could take a 5yr old to a 12a movie.

and since when has taking your son to the cinema to watch a rip roaring adventure movie been the same as letting him play a game where you go round picking up prostitutes and steeling cars..........he preferes lego star wars anyway.

what a crock of s***e.... morally its wrong? like i said my son is a huge fan and realy wants to go, he has seen the others and loves them and wants to see this one.

do i realy care what the bbfc think......no not at all, these are the people who think its ok to headbut a bad guy in lord of the rings but cut out the headbutt scene in star wars because lord of the rings is fantasy and star wars is to real.

and as i said once i have seen the movie and are happy its not too horrific (which i assume is why it gets a 12a) i will take my son i just wanted to know if i could.

i suppose taking him to see ninja turtles last year was also morally wrong...after all there was quite alot of violence in it :p

so my son is a huge fan, seen the others and loved them but i have noticed that this movie has been classed as 12a,
as far as i thought i saw this as anyone under 12 can go but only with an adult but even after looking on the bbfc site i am still unsure.

i do plan to see it with the wife first so i can see if there is anything that might freak him out but then again he thought the exploding heads at the end of raiders was just funny.

yea i read this and it sounds like this guys a bit of a tw#t its a weak review and sounds more like someone fed up of hearing about the movie and wants to bash it before he can get any feedback from anyone else.
seen another review who basically said it was the best of all the follow ups but then was dismissed by people as an insider :D

not long now anyway and i plan on an early screening before someone spoils the plot.

supernatural season 3..........whats happened to the rest of it??

love this show and have seen the first 12 episodes but there seems to have been a fairly big break since the last episode and i cant find out any info on the series regarding upcomming episodes.
with other shows such as heroes finishing halfway due to the writers strike i was wondering if supernatural has had to do the same or are they having a big break until the rest of the season?
anyone out there have any idea?

ok so i have reset p.c to its factory settings but i no longer have the origional monitor.

i now have a 17" lcd medion and before i reset the p.c there was not a problem but now when on the internet if i scroll up or down the whole screen goes all strange as if its underwater and then comes ok when you stop scrolling.

i did not have this problem before and i dont know what i have done or not done to cause this problem.

the p.c has got an ati radion graphics card as before and this is where the monitor is pluged but as i said for some reason i now get this strange problem.

any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks :/

going back to factory settings on packard bell p.c..............er how??

ok so my p.c is around 5 yrs old, its a packard bell running windows xp.

i have followed the instructions on the manual which claims that i have some kind of hidden partition on the hard drive that will allow me to wipe the p.c clean and restore it to how i had it the first day of purchase.

so i have backed everything up and have followed the instructions to make 3 master cds from the partition on my hard drive.

i placed the 1st cd in the drive and then restarted the p.c and what is supposed to happen is that a menu comes up that gives me the option to reset the p.c to the first day i had it, but instead the p.c continues to load up windows xp and although the c.d can be heard spinning its completely ignored.

any ideas? there was no backup software with the p.c as its all supposed to be on the hard drive and now on these cds but i dont want to just reformat because im not sure if i will be able to get windows back on again.

how do i make my icons bigger and better on my desktop.

wanted te kind of look you gat on apple.com trailers, where you have movie posters icons that you click on for trailers.
i want posters you click on to play movies but all i can do is have the movie file in a folder with a picture icon on the file itself and its only small >:(
any ideas??

help with changing desktop features on windows....

i have a collection of movies on the pc and to watch them you simply go into a movie file and click on the movie you wish to watch,
the thing is i was trying to make it all look a bit more professional, ie having the movie posters to click on rather than clicking on files.
the best i can do is download a picture of the movie and open the properties of a file and have that file display the poster, but this looks small and a bit naff.
is there anyway to make these file icons bigger, or is there a way not to bother with the file icons and just have the movie posters as the icons?

i am using windows xp if that helps.

dvi to hdmi- is it worth conecting my p.c using this method?

was about to conect my pc to the hd lcd tv when using the normal pc monitor cable when i was told you can get a lead to connect the dvi output on my graphics card to the hdmi on the tv and it would be better quality because it is digital rather than analogue.

to be honest i have no idea if this is true or not, anyone got any advice or could point me in the right direction, or should i just use the monitor cable.

i will be watching mainly movies and tv episodes on the tv if that helps. :)

bug the hell out of them, untill you get some satisfaction, and if your not happy then demanding a replacement,
i always find you get a better response if you can go down to the store and and see the guy in charge (it helps if the shop has customers).
