I watched this at the cinema in USA a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Im assuming you`ve watched the download - it has a different ending that to be fair prob fits in more with the tone of the movie but for me I much preferred the cinema ending.

One thing that annoys me about facebook is the amount of people sending me requests to join their mafia gang or send them a poker/farmville gift etc and people whinge at me because I dont bother accepting/sending them, trouble is for each one it takes you to the application and then you have to go through the same process eevry time and its apinstakingly slow so I dont bother

would the sound not come through at all though if it were the scart because if i play a vhs tape om my downstairs one it has sound its just that it now displays the channel without sound and thats how it records it as well

In our house we have 2 VHS recorders, one in my room, one upstairs, they`re both different (One is actually a vid/dvd recorder) the thing is when i go to the video channel on both TVs no sound is coming through, the pictures fine and the sound works fine on the other channels, on the downstairs video it plays VHS tapes with sound just fine but if I now tape something it plays it with no sound just as it is on the channel,
Ive gone crazy trying to work it out.

I cant wait to watch Dexter season 3, its one of my favourite shows.
Watched True blood ep1 (taped ep2 as was out only to find the tape had been switched off approx 20mins in for some reason) I really enjoyed ep1 so if it gets better then im in for a good time.
I just started watching s2 of Prison break and from what Im led to believe it gets worse and worse but Im really enjoying it so far(up to ep16 I think) and as cheesy and improbable it is, Im really enjoying it
Ive had s2 for about a year and s3 for about 8months and I noticed S4 region2 is around £35 even on internet but on R1 I can get it for £16, thank god for multi region dvd players

What to buy other half From Dublin

Im off to Dublin tomorrow and I want to bring the other half something back but to be fair theres nothing to really buy is there that you couldnt get from say Manchester etc I know they have the souvenir shops but is there anything decent in them, it doesnt have to be pricey she wouldnt mind as long as in her mind it meant something but im stuck

Now that we have virgin tv in our household besides `True blood` which i know starts next week are there any shows starting soon that i can watch, I keep flicking through and seeing these shows but i dont like watching them unless I see it from the beginning, i just missed out on sons of anarchy and Dollhouse and Dexter S3 (Im hoping these will be repeated)

As far as im aware seasons 2-5 on R2 dvd are all cut (although 2,3 & 4 is only a few mins of violence i believe but the S5 finale has for me a major plot point although how it will play out Im not sure as ive not seen S6 or 7)
So ive not taken the risk and bought S6 on R1 as i cannot find any info on whther it differs from the R2 version, ill also buy S7 on R1, but even with the slight cuts -well besides S5 20mins - its still a great buy on R2 .

I must apologise to sky I had seen this episode but forgot that i nodded off for approx 5mins (id not long been home from work and i were knackered) and the 5mins id seen were the 5mins id not seen on its 1st showing so I assumed they were showing the next part,silly me.
Really Good programme I like it a lot.

SKY1 and the take (Martina cole)

I started watching this last week and watched the next episode on weds, at the end tere was no annoucement of Sky to say when the next episode is on so I assumed the next one was on weds just like the previous ones but as I were flicking through I noticed they were showing the next episode tonight, Its repeated tomorrow but its p***poor of sky to not even tell anyone when its on.

I agree with milesr it should only be used SMS texting, ill use it sparingly on sms messages if it means it will save me 10p for the sake of a couple of letters (cheapskate i know) but to see this in anything other than SMS annoys the fook out of me

NEW shows on virgin

My brother recently got Virgin media digital, I love some of the US shows like Friday night kights, Smallville, Shield etc The thing is I likke watching something on TV every now and again I watch Dexter but had to wait till it came on ITV, the only trouble is evrything I want to watch seems to have already started.
I noticed Dexter season 3 has already started on FX, Dollhouse on Sci-fi, Sons of Anarchy on bravo, Lie to me on sky 1 ,
Is there anything starting soon I can watch from the beginning.

My mother is looking at buying a citroen sxara 1.6 2002 but she were wondering what the tax price would be and if its a decent car, is it a decent automobile petrol wise, she currently drives a VW polo 1.4 N reg but is looking to get rid of it.

Laptop broken after 2 weeks

I recently purchased a toshiba laptop from additions and after 2 weeks the screen does not work, Im struggling to find time to sort it out until another 3 days as Im out at work by 6am and not home till 8pm, Do I have to contact additions or toshiba. any help appreciated.

Ideas for a day out

On wedsnesday me and the other half have a rare day off work together and we were going to go out for the day, trouble is she has to be back for about 3pm so I were wondering if you guys could think of any suggestions on where to go/to do etc. We live in the manchester area, maybe an idea of somewhere to drive to.
Any suggestions appreciated.

From the movies I can remember (im sure ive seen a few this year but admittedly some were before 2008 but for some reason i cant really recall watching much this year)

In no particular order.

no country for old men (outstanding film, looks amazing and one of the best beginnings in a movie ever seen)

Wall-e (loved this, trash has never looked so good beautiful movie)

Dark knight (will be on most peoples list I know, heath ledgers performance is amazing and id say that even if he were still alive,draw for best performance in 2008 along with javier bardem-no country for old men)

REC great horror movie,simple but so effective.

Iron man the ending wasnt the best but everything before it was superb, an almost perfect comic book movie.

The incredible hulk not as good as iron man storywise,performances etc but i enjoyed this more when i saw it at the cinema, brilliant movie i thought with outstanding effects.

Forgetting Sarah marshall really enjoyed this comedy, watched it on the plane and found it hugely enjoyable

Mongol extremely good film

Cloverfield Im actually struggling to recall many movies released in 2008 that ive seen, I quite enjoyed this and it looked pretty authentic to me.

Rambo there will be better movies than this but i had a good time at the cinema and immediately went out and bought the rambo trilogy boxset after seeing this.

The prices on this website are often dearer than if you actually bought the genuine product (which would also include extras) in case people didnt know these are copies some of them are even rips off the TV (so no doubt would include the irritating tv station logo in the corner) dreadful prices.

I think salems lot is classified 18 on dvd but in my opinion it should be a 12, the violence is not strong at all (more graphic violence in the dark knight and indy as far as im concerned) and theres no swearing yet i think its a pretty good scary movie.

Ive seen this for £12.99 (season six) but I dont know if it is cut or not I dont really want to buy season Six region one if theres no difference in the dvd itself, although extras may sway me towards the r1 version but the cheapest i can find r1 is around £24 twice the price of r2, anyone know which is best as i cant find any info on dvdcompare.net or bytes and bobs.

I applied for my mother to get a nationwide flexaccount and the details have just arrived through post. it says on the form shes entitled to a cash card is this their name for the debit card. I have an account with them and on my card its called debit card and i never sent back any proof of id with my application and it went through just fine but my mothers is asking for id. Its only for using abroad but don`t want to bother sending forms back if its not a debit card and instead one of those prepaid cash cards.

Yup sorry never noticed, even so Ive seen this in asda for £1.99 even if you dont live near asda I assume you could get a taxi to your `nearest` asda and buy this and still have change. £34.99 for episode one of heroes was outrageous (its gone now.)

I was looking on ebay for a few tv boxsets and Ive noticed a lot of people bidding for tv dvd boxsets at a price higher than buying it brand new from the shop or from a retailer, some of these people must be a bit stupid if you ask me, but nothing beats this for being overpriced (no ones bid for it yet...I wonder why)

I feel like ive seen this movie already, saw the trailer before the hulk only to have very plot point revealed, prob seen the ending, the best jokes/effects, how his character changes during the film. Why do they have to show everything in the trailer, absolutely pathetic.

I enjoyed this film to a degree its my least favoured one out of the indy films (and like a original poster said Temple of doom is better than last crusade) I remember Marion being a gutsy tough girl who wasn`t afraid of a fight in Raiders but in this she annoyed me she just seemed to have a goofball look on her face the whole time and even whilst she was being shot at and smashed about she just smiled like it was a whole lotta fun that she could die at any moment, I know all the indys have comedic moments but this one just seemed to ott in the comedy stakes ( although the part with indy sinking into the sand and having to grab hold of the snake was one of the best written and funniest scenes from a indy movie ive seen). It was entertaining but just wish some of the comedy moments couldve been toned down a tad and that scene with mutt and the monkeys should never have made it into the film,that scene was absolutely terrible

I`m hoping to go to Florida this year (went last year and loved it) we stayed in the international drive area and after searching and searching we found the same hotel we stayed in last year (doubletree) and flight on sunshine.co.uk (are these any good,went through a link on quidco) for a great price the only snag is they do not supply airport transfer and this has got us slightly worried we checked on the Mears transport site and they had airport shuttle transfer for approx £40 for 3 of us which we thought was a great price. Although we used Mears taxis etc for Disney last year I`m wondering if its a risk sorting out our own transportation to the hotel, has anybody used a airport transfer before and any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Ive bought everyone of these on region one dvd up to now and I found out season six is coming out on region 2 on march the 24th, whereas it will not be coming out before May in america due to legal issues etc (who knows it may not come out for a long time).
The trouble is there are rumours the region two will have no extras and it will be cut like the R2 season five boxset were (approx 20mins cut from a extended episode in S5).
I`m dying to see it but wary now of purchasing the R2 yet who knows how long I`d have to wait for R1.
