General Forum
My mother is looking at buying a citroen sxara 1.6 2002 but she were wondering what the tax price would be and if its a decent car, is it a decent automobile petrol wise, she currently drives a VW polo 1.4 N reg but is looking to get rid of it.
a bit vague that site... but as a rule my mate who use to sell these said `Stay away`!
`i am going to live forever or die trying`
Well I had a 1992 ZX (the earlier shape but same underpinnings I think) and that is still on the road. I also had a 2001 Picasso that gave us 6 years of cheap and troublefree motoring and is still going strong in my brothers hands.
A friend has an earlier Xsara that has cost peanuts to run over the last 3 years too.
why take life so seriously..its not like you are going to make it out alive

I don`t see how it could be any less vague! :/
It gives you a breakdown of where the most claims arise, the average cost of each claim, the average time taken to effect repairs etc.etc.
How much more detailed could it get? :/
Overall though, the reliability index figure for this car is very, very good.
Around 118 is the average.
Anything higher than that is below average reliability.
Anything below that is above average reliability.
The Xsara (97-05) has a figure of 34.32.
Which means they consider it to be much more reliable than average.
A bit of a surprise to me, I must admit.
My preconception would have been to avoid it too.
Honest John isn`t over impressed either: Linkus Dinkus
