Sadly this year that is not uncommon, my M&S cover doubled to nearly £700 and they took it direct, even though i cancelled the auto renewal.

I phoned them and got it back within 24 hours, but they just said that was best price they could offer... i think the best i found on comparison site was about £80 more than last years premium

Similar story here, higher than expected, went to comparison site and couldn't get close to renewal price.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Suddenly feeling grateful mine is £462!

I wonder if it's like car insurance, and you get the best price by shopping around with 2 months to go rather than 1.

And mine went from £156 to £209! Although I did my usual thing of checking the price comparisons and armed with the cheaper quotes managed to wangle a discount... of about £8

I am with 'quote me happy' for the last five years and its went up from £95 to now £130 a year, over that period. All I can say is that they are cheap, very cheap, suspiciously cheap, as there is hardly anyway of contacting them, as no human contact is involved, its all email contact only. I actually would not like to claim from them, as maybe they do not actually have human employees and just have an A.I. machine doing the business. But by law with my house contract/clauses, it says I do need to have insurance, in case my house blows up or any other more natural causes of disaster.

So to conclude, the above company is cheap and as long as you never claim, they are perfect LOL.

My Tesco quote jumped from 380 to 800+

Went on the comparison sites and 'quote me happy' came in at £318 with higher limits!

Got my 'quote me happy 'quote in and it ended up being 'quote me sad', as it was nearly double that of last years now wanting £240, last year £130. What!

Went onto the confused comparison website and got a better quote at £130 from Tesco bank, and I get a £20 on-line Halfords voucher from confused, they offer 4 different types of £20 gifts, but only if not using a cash back system. So good result.
