RE: Google forced to sell Chrome to end search monopoly
"You do know that Micro$oft will stop supporting Win 10 in under a year?"
Yeh, it does not bother me, will be glad of not getting those tiresome updates that take ages to load and slow my machine down.
last update was AI copilot in the background and it caused my machine to slow down so much I uninstalled AI copilot.
I just do not fancy win 11 at the moment.
RE: Google forced to sell Chrome to end search monopoly
A lot of us like me like Chrome with google search, as we are used to it, and just stick with it.
I recently moved onto win10 and they are pushing down our throats Microsoft edge which is built in on the toolbar, which I am not a fan of. So I have set everything back to chrome and google, even though I know google watches everything you browse. Maybe this is why my number of tracking cookies has increased by a large factor under win10 compared with previous win7, and have to delete them each week with a cookie cruncher program.
RE: [VIDEO] The Return of Captain Kirk
I was a bit confused wither this was in the Spock genesis planet or in the 'beyond time' cloud that Kirk was trapped in for a while, where both locations were beyond time and death. But...
It does not really matter, as just looking at this video was like looking at old friends, it seems crazy that a si-fi fictional show like the original Star Trek can make the characters so real and full of emotion, as to create memories just like part of our real lives. Weird but thanks for the video. Just a pity there was no talking involved, but I suppose it did not need it.
RE: Post Trump fallout
While Trump says he can end the Russian/Ukraine war in a day, Biden has put his oar in by now giving Ukraine the green light to use long range missiles into Russia. Why give this order so near to the end of his presidency when it was not allowed before, I wonder?
RE: [VIDEO] Secret Santa 2024
Because of the cost of Christmas presents when we get a few of our families gathering, we now do Secret Santa.

RE: [VIDEO] Music by John Williams
Star wars IV theme still gets chills up my back when its played and beams me be back to the cinema opening in the late 70's.
RE: [VIDEO] Post Trump fallout
Well Trump is back in again, and likely his first move with be to pardon himself from a prison sentence lol.
As a Brit the big worry is not what Trump will get up to on his own country, but instead the worry of a world with two hellish wars going on that could easily escalate into WW3.
At least if WW3 happens then as compensation we do not have to worry about Starmer introducing yet more taxes to hit everyone, as everyone will be dead :D
RE: What strategies can drivers use to rebuild their auto insurance history after a lapse in coverag
Your right Jitendar Canth, I don't want auto insurance as I have a manual stick.
RE: Don`t forget the clocks go back Saturday night!!!!
Thanks admars, as I have a dentist appointment on Monday 10AM.
The last time I missed an appointment they charged me £60 for not turning up. So i better not miss this one. They added these charges in the small print this year, so you better check your own dentist to see if these sneaky charges have been added if you do not turn up.

RE: [VIDEO] Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
Don't worry about what's on at Christmas, just pass the cheese and crackers :D
RE: [VIDEO] Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
Argh, the chicken is back :D
By the way Wallace's famous voice is now well played by Ben Whitehead, since the death of Peter Sallis in 2017.
RE: Wes Anderson film 'The French Despatch' on 9th Oct
Well it took me three days to get through this film. Bit by bit. Good job I taped it.
For a Wes Anderson film it was not that bad, but there again not that good, sort of so so. I was going to pack it in until 'the nude prison woman being painted' scene peaked my interest, then continued on with it to the end LOL.
My conclusion is that I ain't buying any Wes Anderson film again like I did with Asteroid city, and will just wait to see it for free, even if its years later.
RE: [VIDEO] In Flight
They should have called it 'I don't remember boarding the plane'. That would have helped :D
That's why I like films with titles that tells you what's it about, like 'Snakes on a Plane' as it has...snakes on a plane LOL.
Wes Anderson film 'The French Despatch' on 9th Oct
On at 9PM on Film 4 and will likely be repeated this week as they do on Film 4. This film was made in 2021 and will watch it this week as have never seen it before.
You either love Wes Anderson films or not. The last one I paid for the DVD and watched was 'Asteroid city 2023' and it was kind of grim and handed it into charity shop, yet others like The Grand Budapest hotel 2014 are fantastic.
Story for this film according to write up is 'star-encrusted tribute to the New Yorker magazine and covers the final edition of a chaotic fictional publication, following the death of the paper's editor - played by Bill Murray'. We will see tomorrow if this film is good or not.
RE: Mr Bates vs The Post Office
For Lego fans like Pete-MK, the latest Lego Icons for Christmas, now available....:D
RE: We haven`t played Mornington Crescent in a while...
Well she's up the duff again, so it has to be Pudding Lane
RE: Scams
My life is a lot better since I moved onto fast broadband this month, as I have now lost my landline phone and hence all the scam call centre calls from Mumbai that goes with it. I just now use my mobile phone only.
PS...You can buy what is called an internet phone to plug into the broadband router, but that's more cost a month for phone use, and why bother as I have mobile.
RE: [VIDEO] Red One
Ho Ho Ho with Deadpool vibes :D
RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance
A legal challenge today has been raised in Scotland in a bid to scrap the planned cuts to winter fuel payments by the Labour Party. This if successful will also apply to England and Wales.
Govan Law Centre (a charity organisation) says a successful court case could reverse the cut for ten million people across the UK.

RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance
Sir Kier Starmer today ignored an internal party revolt at the labour conference against his Government's decision to strip millions of pensioners of their winter fuel payments.
Unite Union has led calls in Liverpool for Chancellor Rachel Reeves to u-turn on her decision to axe the £300 lifeline for older people. There are over 10 million pensioners just above the pension credit threshold who will lose out this Winter.

RE: Mr Bates vs The Post Office
They are also now looking into the previous system before Horizon and it was called Capture, a DOS based program, which had also caused prosecution's of former post masters. A total can of worms indeed.
RE: Blakes 7 coming to Blu-Ray
What was great about this si-fi series was not the rubbish cardboard sets nor the poor models of spaceships moving on strings, but the characters themselves. Most of them were very memorable.
For its time a lot of interesting concepts were put into the stories, like controlling the big madman with a brain chip which seemed to fail in each episode when he went on a rampage LOL. Also the baddie army were hooked on a drug, where to live they had to serve or die of drug withdrawal.
RE: [VIDEO] The Rubber-Keyed Wonder
Do you think the late Sir Clive Sinclair really has movie appeal?
I would possibly watch this as a free documentary on TV at a later date.

RE: [VIDEO] Bookworm... a.k.a. Elijah Wood goes on another adventure in New Zealand!
Why does he still look like a hobbit?
Giving this film a total miss.
RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance
This story is not going away, not by a long shot....
Starmer urged by opposition to publish winter fuel payments impact assessment.

Marty Hopkirk is now a real ghost
Actor Kenneth Cope has died aged 93, he made his biggest impression on the TV screen playing the ghost of a private eye in the fantasy television series Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) in which he played Marty Hopkirk.
I loved that TV series, it was full of imagination on how a ghost interacted with the living and got his fellow detective out of many nasty predicaments.
My favorite episode well remembered was an 'Al Capone' type American ghost with a tommy gun and a grudge against the guy who killed him.
RIP Kenneth Cope.
RE: [VIDEO] RIP James Earl Jones
RIP....That voice he had, really said it all in every movie he played.
RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance
Well Starmer and his Labour cronies has pushed though this disgraceful cut denying many pensioners the winter fuel payment.
The PM has admitted the move is unpopular, and has resisted calls to rethink the cut for 10 million pensioners, or to tweak the eligibility for the £300 winter fuel payment.
I think this move will come back to haunt the Labour Party.
RE: Denying pensioners winter fuel allowance
Today on BBC news...
Starmer faces union pressure over Winter fuel payment cut.
'Leaders of two of the biggest unions have added further pressure on the government over its plan to cut winter fuel payments for millions of pensioners in England and Wales.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham told the BBC the government should "do a U-turn", while head of the PCS union Fran Heathcote said it was a "misstep" which needed to be "put right".
Paul Nowak, head of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) which brings unions together, has also said the government should "rethink" and consider other lines of support for pensioners.
Sir Keir Starmer, who is facing a potential rebellion at a vote in the Commons on Tuesday, says the cut is necessary due to the state of the country's finances.'
RE: [VIDEO] Megalopolis
Looks good fantasy but no idea what it is about, I have to see it.
