RE: [VIDEO] Deadpool & Wolverine

What a superhero partnership. I am sold on it right now.

RE: [VIDEO] Rebel Moon

Why does that sound like John Hurt in the commentary. Thought he died a while back. Or is it an actor doing a similar voice?

RE: [VIDEO] Trap

Sometimes M. Night Shayamalan films are good and sometimes bad, this could be a good one. Will wait to see other trailers before paying money to see it or just wait a while till I can see it for free.

RE: Liz Truss PM

Was Truss really a PM? It went by in the blink of an eye.

I thought she only took the job during her tea break and cost the country Billions before being booted out of the job.

RE: [VIDEO] Venom

Think the Venom films were trying to compete with the Deadpool videos and not winning on either comedy or violence. But being a si-fi fantasy fan I still watched them all.

RE: How many browsers do you use?

"safari soo goodie"

I was waiting to see who would say this LOL

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Agree Sylvester McCoy Years 2 and 3 were good, and so sad to see the classics finished so soon. Ace and the doctor made a really good team.

As for Paul McGann, a highly forgettable TV movie, many fans like me never thought of an EIGHTH doctor, It just never made sense, as Movies and Series were supposed to be separated. Otherwise you would have had to include Peter Cushing fighting the Daleks in his two Doctor movies as having a number, and he never did have one.

But being Doctor Who we accept there are a lot of holes in the plot LOL.

RE: How many browsers do you use?

Been using Chrome for years, though I have noticed my ad blocker 'Privacy badger' is not working as good now that I have moved onto win10, must be more adverts than previous windows. Also a lot more cookies getting through and have to purge about 300 a week with my cookie cruncher program, compared to earlier windows which was say 50 a week.

Chrome has also slowed down as I think win10 keeps Microsoft edge running in the background, and no idea how to switch off Edge completely which is always live telling you weather and news on the task bar with win10.

Find win10 more complex and not as user friendly as previous.

RE: hey did you hear about our old friend OJ Simpson

WoW, this name is a blast from the past.

I remember nothing of the trial, but remember the slowest televised car chase in US history. Was laughing my head off at it.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Blake 7...now that has stirred some memories and I did like the acting in that series. Likely if I watched it again now it would be naff with the cardboard scenery, but at the time it was fine British si-fi.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Peter Davidson years...were OK, but he had far too many assistants for my liking.

Colin Baker years....Never did like that actor, too smamy a smile and very poor scripts over his seasons. Remember hearing he only took on the Doctors role for the money, and going by his acting I am assuming that was true.

My Doctors for the classics was Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and for some weird reason Sylvester McCoy, maybe because he was the last of the classics and had very interesting scripts and had a quirky style, not forgetting a great assistant called Ace. Like many other Doctor who fans, was sorry when it finished.

RE: [VIDEO] Everything Everywhere All At Once

I quite fancy seeing this but its still quite an expensive DVD at the moment, I will wait till its under a tenner.

RE: Clocks Go Forward tonight (Sat 30th Sun 31st)

I have one of these wall clocks in the house that works from the radio signal. Wish all my clocks were like that. I used to have a Vauxhall car well over a decade ago that had that type of clock, so it was auto setting. My latest car is back to manual setting. Talk about future technology going backwards LOL.

RE: [VIDEO] here comes the new boss, same as the old boss

We have had some terrible leaders in the Conservative party over the recent years, with PM's coming and going. The opposition Labour party is just as bad with their leaders. Does not matter who gets in power, the people still have to strive to earn money and the bills just get higher to ensure your not putting any back for a rainy day. One day austerity will end they say. Fat chance. Puts me right off voting it does.

[VIDEO] RE:What are you listening to now??? (Music recomendations)

Re: Si

Peter Gabriel is an amazing singer over the years with such emotion.
The song that really hits me is Peter Gabriel with Kate Bush. Always play it.

RE: Morecambe and Wise

Will watch that. On TV this week was a short TV film of how the young boys met and the influence of Morecambe's mother as their mentor and manager in the early years. Eric and Ernie TV movie 2011. It was well played and worth watching.

As a fan, one thing I have never been happy at was the individual statues of each of them in their birth places. There should have been two identical statues in their birth places having both Eric and Ernie in their 'famous dancing out of screen' pose. That would have been far better.

RE: Just a little jog

By the looks of her she better watch her heart.

That's why I do not jog to the pub, i just do a slow walk and then a slow drink with a packet of crisps LOL

RE: 3 Body Problem

Thought was, no need for spoilers as first book came out in China in 2006, and the internet media speculation was that the Chinese authorities wanted the Chinese to read it with the 'not so hidden' message.

No idea your reference to Jez bandi, is that one of the chinese actors?

RE: [VIDEO] Penguin!

"I can't believe that's Colin Farrell"...too many donuts LOL

RE: 3 Body Problem

Ah an inscrutable a new film based on the 3 body problem books. Interestingly the books are massive best sellers in China, and content had to be approved by the Chinese communist party to be printed, as all their books. So you wonder if they are trying to tell the Chinese population subtly that Earth will encounters an alien civilization from a nearby system in the near future, or are the Chinese just a bunch of si-fi geeks?

RE: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Looks good to me.

When the original film first came out I thought it a bit weird, then got hooked on it. Got it on DVD. will def see this new one.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Looking forward to the new season.

RE: [VIDEO] The Empire

Its like a garlic Starwars with truffles LOL.

Might be worth a watch, if I can withstand de French lingo for an hour or two.

RE: The Crow (remake)

Some films for certain reasons I never want to see, I just instantly take a dislike to the subject and this is one of them, so I will not be seeing the original ever or the remake.

Funny being stubborn like that.  Buts that's me.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Ah, the old jelly babies. Must have put the sales up during those years LOL.

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Have to agree I did not like the Pertwee years while stuck on Earth which limited the scripts. My favorite doctor from the golden years was Tom Baker, the stories were brilliant and some really stood out like the Robots of death and the Talons of weng-chiang.

Hairy Biker dies

TV Chef Dave Myers dies of cancer aged sixty six RIP.

He was one of the amazing biker duo and I loved their TV shows traveling the UK and other countries. They were 'down to earth' guys and brought recipes that were tasty and heart warming food, rather than 5 star Michelin stuff you get in stuffy expensive restaurants.

Many TV chef's are obnoxious with anger management issues and too full of themselves. The Hairy bikers were the opposite of that. They were your everyday fellows, happy in their journeys, talking freely with those they meet on the road and loved the food they made, though could be a bit unhygienic at times with their poking of fingers and used spoons to check the food, but hey, who at home does the same? LOL.

I do feel sorry for his co-star Si King as that's the end of the duo and I suppose also the end of his career. That is always the problem with a double act when one goes first. Anyway they had a good turn.

RE: [VIDEO] EA Announces New Lord Of The Rings Mobile RPG

Is this one of those 'free' games where the further you go in you need to pay to unlock new characters and quests?

I would rather pay for a full game and know there is no more taking of your wonga.

RE: [VIDEO] Huge Blaze at Grenfell towers in West London

It is very difficult trying to get people out of these high rise buildings with flames all around. I know you should never take the lift as power could be cut off in mid use and trap you in. One of the crazy rules in Grenfell towers was to stay in your flat in case of emergency and await rescue. What!  I would have been out of there like a shot and down those stairs, and that's what saved many of the survivors.

I always have an escape route planned, we would throw our bed mattress out the first floor window to the grass and throw the cat out first to check for trajectory, then the wife and then I would jump, hopefully landing on cat and wife for cushioning of fall :D

RE: [VIDEO] Close Channel D: David McCallum R.I.P.

Found Sapphire and Steel a strange and very short si-fantasy series. It seemed that a lot more intelligence was required to understand the stories compared to The Avengers with Steed and Purdey. OK I give in as I watched both series because Johana Lumely in her hey day was in them :D
