Bearing in mind you live in a country where someone can be shot for carrying a chair leg and no crime has been committed I`d be a bit more careful with the "Only in America".

Given the level of the problem why couldn`t the mother make it for over an hour?

Who needs JoJo the super nanny when you can just get your kid cuffed and taken off in a police car.

I bet she`s not going to get in a tantrum again about maths.

They did it to Maggie in The Simpsons so is this life imitating art? ;)

Too much softly softly going on with kids these days, scrotes learn they can get away behaving as they want with no accountability. If you act violently then that`s what you get.

From the news story:

Quote:
The officers were called by the school after a teacher and assistant principal failed to calm down the little girl.

I think this is what it comes down to. If a teacher is faced with an out-of-control child who doesn`t respond to any attempts to "calm her down" (presumably verbally, as you`re not allowed to lay a finger on them these days), precisely what option do they have other than to call the police?

At one time, the girl would have got a good smack and that would have been the end of it. Not any more.

If teachers had the powers they needed to be able to deal with these situations, it wouldn`t be necessary to get the police involved.

From one Mike to another, totally agree with your comments. I`ve helped out in a school when my daughter was about 5 or 6 and the level on self-control required by teacher is unbelievable.

How long before a teacher is sued by a parent for restraining a child that might even by harming another.

Give teachers, and GOOD parents back the right to properly control situations without the constant threat of retribution.
