Famous people in bit parts before they were famous

I love watching old movies, you always come across someone you recognise in a bit part.

Just seen The Fugitive, and Jane Lynch aka Sue Silverster from Glee is in it as a doctor friend of Richard Kimble. Also on the L train scene the cop is the janitor from Scrubs!

Ben Browder was in Memphis Belle for 15 seconds

Only one that springs to mind right now

I'm obviously wrong after some serious Googling but I could've sworn there was a single, brief, one scene appearance by Steve McQueen in Invaders from Mars (1953).
Anyone put me out of my misery and tell me it was a different actor or similar film.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

You have to look at old TV series to spot faces that went on to be bigger stars.

A quick focus on Dallas will show how Kate Mulgrew, who went on to be Captain Janeway on USS Voyager once played a hooker that was bedded by JR Ewing.

And Brad Pitt, bless him, once appeared in Dallas, way back in 1987, as a sweet homely guy called Randy who briefly had an affair with Lucy, the poison dwarf! I vividly remember when he popped up as J.D. in Thelma and Louise, and I said I remembered him from Dallas...never knowing that he would go on to be one of the highest paid actors of our time!

Just watched Lethal Weapon 2 (working my way through the box set), which had double enjoyment partly for actor spotting and partly for the irony of Mel Gibson accusing South African's of being racist etc.

First one was Dean Norris showing up as a detective, that's Hank from Breaking Bad!

And the first time I think I've seen Jenette Goldstein, who is probably more easily recognisable as Vasquez from Aliens (or John Connor's foster mum in Terminator 2). And also her heavy weapons counterpart in Aliens, Mark Rolston is in it too, as a South African.

Saw Starship Troopers (still a great movie!) on Tuesday, and noticed a couple...

Dean Norris (aka Hank from Breaking Bad) yet again, this time as the CO on the training base.

Brenda Strong (aka Mary Alice from Desperate Housewives, or Mrs Ewing in the new Dallas) was the captain of the big spaceship.

Seth Gilliam (aka Detective Ellis Carver from The Wire) was one of the army grunts.

Nicholas Lyndhurst was a Nazi in the best ever storyline in The Tomorrow People, complete with dodgy German accent.
