RE: Pioneer 545

was looking at one of these myself, but decided to go for a slightly lower model the Pioneer DV-444, practically the same but missing a Scart Socket and Control In... just fyi, the 444 looks identical to the 545... :)

RE: Last House on the Left

got mine from http://proxis.be/ for about £11 delivered, though it did take about 4 weeks to get to me.. its th dutch version as well, with removable subtitles.

RE: Which version of Saving Private Ryan?

mh, it comes up as £17.99 when i search for it on furtureent....

Which version of Saving Private Ryan?

Want to get this but not sure whether the Region 1 or 2 was better? any ideas? cheers!

RE: TerminatorSE 9.99!!!!

i don`t think there were any cuts to the Region 2 one.... both the scene where he takes his own eye out, and cuts open his arms are still in the Region 2..

RE: Any comments on Radiohead - Meeting People Is Easy

It`s quite good, watch my friends DVD of it.... is barebones though which is a shame....

Rumour has it that their releasing a DVD of one of the American Gigs...

RE: credit card recommendation

I`ve been using the Egg Card for the past three months, one of the main things that attacted me to it was the 2% cash back with their suggested online retailers (ie, Amazon.co.uk, Whsmith + Loads more, check the site), and also 1% cash back on ANY purchases... so far ive accumulated £18 back in the 3 months so it does add up.

I also opted to pay the full amount from my CC by having it debited from my bank account at the end of the month, so i dont even have to worry about forgetting to pay...

Egg Customer Support is also brilliant and they responde to emails normally within 24 hours, if not quicker!

From the site once you`ve logged in, you can do pretty much anything, from ask for a greater credit limit, to transfering balance, every feature on there is very useful!

Egg would definitely be my recommendation if you`re looking for an online bank..

(i haven`t mentioned the protection or insurance, but i assume that they DO have something :))

RE: Akira - limited edition tin box.

Movie Tyme also have the Tin:

http://store.movietyme.com

search for Akira, it appears at the bottom, £29.99 free P+P

RE: Any Horror Fans Here

wow, you two have just listed so many films that ive never seen, ive just drawn up a list of what i need to buy and its gonna cost me loadddss.. oh well.. :)

lawless, which version of max payne are you getting? the clone cd one? i havent managed to find either yet.. doh..

most recent stuff i ordered was Straw Dogs, and Ed Gein, do either of you (um. of course you do..) know if The Hills Have Eyes is good?

ive been into horrors for ages, but havent managed to see many due to not knowing where to get them / money issues... i think troma are making a Toxic Avenger 4, Toxic City i think...

oh, Ed Gein ordered from store.movietyme.com for £11.99... not too bad..

cyas..

RE: Any Horror Fans Here

hey, check out www.edgeinthemovie.com, i saw this and it literally blew me away... its out on DVD today and you can order it from amazon.com, not so much a classic / banned horror as such, but stuff like this is hardly made anymore... if only more horrors like this would come out..

RE: Really cheap R1 releases!!

for the die hard box, including P+P ist $85.99, which is about £40... you may as well pay a few £`s more and order it from Play247, at least that way you know if you are charge for customs they will reimburse you..

HMV Discount Code..

goto

http://www.hmv.co.uk/barclaycard

then enter the code: Rewards1

to get £3 off £30..

not much of a bargain, but i guess it means free P+P, plus if you still have a £10 from the x-files fiasco...

RE: Terminator: Special Edition - scene`s still not replaced?

the R2 Special Edition has both of those scenes, not sure of the R1 edition though..

RE: r-1 nightmate on elm street vs r2????? which should i buy

at first i didnt think it would be worth buying the R1 set, so i went ahead and purchased the R2 one..... now i really wished i spent more on the R1 set!!

the R2 set is too basic, only trailers, scene selection and two crappy music videos.... oh and 5 discs....

the R1 set has 8 discs which include Nightmare on Elm Street 3D, the Nightmare on Elm Street Game + Encyclopedia, tons of extras and a nicer box. if you`re a big fan then i think is definetly worth the extra cost, which is about £30......

RE: X Files Season 1 £29.99 The truth is out there!

i know you`ve all probably heard this already, but it really is true that they only have limited stock of sale items. having worked for companies such as theirs before, they are always given specific numbers by their supplier that they can sell off for cheap. thats why if you goto say, Our Price, or HMV you will always find the sale item somewhere else for a more expensive price in the same store.

however, generally the staff "can" offer the non-reduced items to customers at the sale price under their own discretion. but reading most of the posts about HMV, they havent gone for his approach, i think thats because they may of missed the deal themselves, and feel that you as a customer don`t deserve to have it for that price if the can`t have it themselves....

if they dont want to give it to you for the sale price, just ask to speak to the manager. they normally give in :)

RE: War Films

forgot to mention, The Abyss....

Nightmare on Elm Street Box £36.99!!

https://secure.musicbox.uk.co/acatalog/Main_A_nightmare_on_Elm_street_box_set___36_99_933.html

damn cheap... but its limited! so be quick!

RE: play247

their a brilliant company. pretty cheap and very reliable.

i have only ever had one problem with a CD i bought from them, i didnt arrive for ages, but they said they`d sent it, loads of other customers had the same problem, so they refunded me (and everyone else i guess), but around 2 weeks later it arrived anyway! so i got it for free :)

RE: It`s Votes That Count

yeah, it would be a good idea, but we would need "loads" of people to vote before it would noticed by media..... it`ll be interesting to see what others think.... like of HMV, who i think are pretty good even after the x-files boxset fiasco... :)

RE: War Films

Aliens..... yeah.... turn it up really loud :), oh and Platoon also!!

RE: Omen Trilogy - £15.99!!!

Was posted on another forum:

"Well guys you have caught me out, yes I made a balls up on the price of Omen Trilogy and unfortunately we will not be honouring it.....sorry!!!!

and then later on:

"OK Guys, I can assure you this is not a hoax. I have read some very interesting points over the last 24 hours and it has been very helpful to see what people are actually saying about us. So what I have decided to do is go to the cheapest price I have seen (£29.99 by Titan DVD) and beat this price, if you now look at the site you will see the price has changed to £26.99 with free P&P.

I also apologise for not having contacted you personally, you will be receiving an e-mail today to inform you of the situation.

Many Thanks

Simplygames.com"

Hope this will clear up any confusion.

RE: Last House On The Left

Taxi Driver was cool............

RE: Last House On The Left

cool, i will check those films out, cannibal ferox and holocaust were both really sick films i thought, i bought them cause i was intrigued to see how "sick" they really were...

btw, have you seen a film called "men behind the sun"? i think its called that, but thats suppose to be pretty shocking as well... i think i have been desensitized to all sick things... nooooo

the nightmare series were cool for the cheese factor, its actually one horror i wouldnt mind watching with friends...lol..

and i think its horror month or something on film four if your have it!

i bought the evil dead 2 special edition tin, but not yet got the halloween one, will again look out for it.... ahhh, must stop buying dvds..!!

RE: Last House On The Left

i actually saw Zombie (the Lucio F.. something) one on sale down in london not long ago, it was going for £3 in a secondhand shop... shame that i was skint... im gonna buy Suspiria today hopefully, i havent seen it in ages....
