Having just purchased a Home cinema surround kit, can anyone recomend a good War/Sci-Fi DVD that can can push the surround sound to the limits. I have just purchased Apocalypse Now after reading the reviews about it having a good sound track but have not watched it yet. I want to hear the blades cutting through the air,the rustling of branches etc etc

Saving Private Ryan will knock your socks off with its surround sound. Three Kings and U-571 are unique (if you can stand the Uncle Sam pap). The old classics sound great too, even if they`re only mono or stereo.

SciFi: The Matrix, Starship Troopers, Aliens... all suitably "warry" and make full use of that lovely 5.1.

Yeah: Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Glory, Cross of Iron, Das Boot, A Bridge Too Far. All sound good enough on DVD to get your blood lust up.

;^)
