General Forum
Hi
i`m looking for a credit card that will mainly be used on line, so it needs to have some kind of protection or insurance. I`m not bothered about interest rate as i will always pay the balance.
i was thinking of the egg card or smile.
Does anybody have any recommendations.
Cheers dman

A great site for this kind of query is

Some real, friendly experts on that site who are only too willing to share their knowledge for free. Much like this site on all matters DVD!

RE: credit card recommendation
I`ve been using the Egg Card for the past three months, one of the main things that attacted me to it was the 2% cash back with their suggested online retailers (ie, Amazon.co.uk, Whsmith + Loads more, check the site), and also 1% cash back on ANY purchases... so far ive accumulated £18 back in the 3 months so it does add up.
I also opted to pay the full amount from my CC by having it debited from my bank account at the end of the month, so i dont even have to worry about forgetting to pay...
Egg Customer Support is also brilliant and they responde to emails normally within 24 hours, if not quicker!
From the site once you`ve logged in, you can do pretty much anything, from ask for a greater credit limit, to transfering balance, every feature on there is very useful!
Egg would definitely be my recommendation if you`re looking for an online bank..
(i haven`t mentioned the protection or insurance, but i assume that they DO have something :))

RE: credit card recommendation
I have just signed up for the Liverpool victoria credit card online, I saw it reccomended on interactive investor along with the nationwide card as they do not add a foreign currency surcharge when you use your card in overseas transactions.
Most other cards add about 2.5% to your bill, this is a big saving not only when traveling but buying our DVD`s from overseas.
Hope this helps.
