RE: GPS Speed Camera Detector under £80 at Woolies

`Intelligence not cameras`, say Durham`s traffpols

""More of these required, perhapsSpeed cameras cause accidents and their deployment should be frozen, said Durham`s chief constable Paul Garvin yesterday, because they cause fatal road accidents. He said forces around the country should curb their reliance on speed cameras, according to a report in a local newspaper, and rely instead on "intelligence-led traffic policing".

The county has no fixed speed cameras and was the only county in the north-east to experience a fall in the number of fatal road accidents during 2004. Garvin said that an excess of fixed cameras can damage police efforts to reduce dangerous driving, remarks he supported with yesterday`s DfT road death statistics for 2004 (see link below for report), which show that the number of people killed on roads in the county fell by 10 in the last year.

Instead, said Garvin, intelligence-led traffic policing was the only way forward. While clearly not content with a figure of 32 dead from road accidents last year, a spokesman said that the policy of "focusing on poor driving and criminal driving rather than simply relying on speed cameras" was having an effect.""

This is just what others have been trying to get across to some blinkered people.
Here is someone with the knowledge plus experience and is able to voice an educated opinion.

RE: GPS Speed Camera Detector under £80 at Woolies

Were I to enter an arguement with someone who had 20, 30 or 40 years experience then I do feel that I`d have to defer to their superior experience! Come back and tell us when you have some I say. 31mph is not more dangerous than 30mph. Inattention is dangerous, inapproriate speed is dangerous. Lots of driving behaviour can be dangerous but speed is not the main factor in accidents, speed can make the consequences worse but that does not mean that it is the root cause.

RE: GPS Speed Camera Detector under £80 at Woolies

I`m sorry tgtbt I believe that you should get some education here. I`m sure you`re a very nice chap it`s just too annoying when you expound views that display ignorance of basic facts and your inexperience.

RE: GPS Speed Camera Detector under £80 at Woolies

Just shows that there are some real fools out there. How can anyone make such stupid comments as 31 is more dangerous than 30! Either a non-driver or unable to understand the basic elements of driving.

RE: Anyone got a mobile on `3`? whats it like now?

Well we are happy with 3. We are running 4 phones and no problem for us and that ranges from Ullapool to The Lakes to Shropshire, not exactly the big cities are they!
I`m a convert to the Moto A1000. Lovely little PDA/phone and with integral aGPS. http://www.e2save.com/?money4me507835" target="_blank">this deal¦http://www.e2save.com/?money4me507835and select handset. (referral link btw) Lots of support from online forums with apps and advice too.

RE: FREESERVE ANYTIME AGONY !!!!!!AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH

I was with Freeserve Anytime for years but happily I changed to Pipex and now have no problems. I would never go back to Wannadoo.

RE: Just a warning, in case you are offered one..

You don`t have to have money to have morals.

RE: Free Motorola A835 - 500 minutes any time/any network - £12.50 pm on "3"

Sorry, that`s wrong. As I understand it then the 15p applies for 2G calls made on PAYG only. All other calls made on monthly contract/inclusive minutes are cross network and at any time.

RE: 3G VIDEOPHONE - MOTOROLA A835 ON P&G AT WOOLIES - £149.99

Happy converts to 3 here too. Used Shropshire and the Lakes without a problem.
There was no 3 signal in the Lakes but the 2G worked fine.

RE: Someone`s dropped a boo boo here!

30 phones = stupid
and as for ...."I`m hard, I am" :o:o:o:(

perhaps he was joking?

RE: 3 to go video mobile - £50

Yes indeed dwight. It`s a minimum 12 month contract, pay for what you use.No minimum payment. My phones were free plus I had a cheque! Excellent piece of kit to rival my Tivo. Doesn`t do excel or word but what the heck......
If you want to have a calling contract you can get cashback btw

RE: G3 mobiles!! anybody received them yet?

Can I suggest that you give A1comms a ring? Tim there was very helpful. He told me that all the early orders would be despatched on the Monday afterI had ordered on Thursday. It duly arrived as promised Tuesday. I believe that they were rather snowed under with orders and a call will give you the info, perhaps you`ll get an e808y.
Cpw were excellent too and did a price match, fine service to get a brill phones for nothing.

RE: G3 mobiles!! anybody received them yet?

I`ve got my free 808 from A1comms and love it plus another from CPW and they did a pricematch.:) (btw i think that the deal includes 12 months insurance whichever dealer you source i from)
For anyone looking for a monthly cotract then E2save.com is a good place to start as they will offer £100 cashback on the 750/£35pm deal.

RE: 3 to go video mobile - £50

I have to report that I`m well pleased with my 808 phones.
They are much better than the old Motorola that I had before and cost of calls is lower.
Much like everything you get these days in that you almost have to take a degree course after reading the manual to get the best out of them. I like the clamshell design and have adjusted to the UI and like it a lot. I don`t think I`ll be using it for video or as a real digital camera but nice to have all the same.
A cheque arrived this morning from CPW as a pricematch too.

Just might point out that under the t&c`s that you only pay for what you use, their is no obligation to use the phone so the 12 month contract is unlikely to bother you unless it was to be stolen but there is insurance included in the deal.
btw my Bro-in-law went in to CPW and got 3 free!

RE: 3 to go video mobile - £50

My hat off to you bonytony. Well done!

A refund on the difference sees me with 2 phones for £8, unbelievable!

RE: 3 to go video mobile - £50

Please!!!!!!...........you look for a better buy than £20?
For a new phone?
Silly sausages then...........
Plus you will miss it like the guys who were reading the small print.

RE: Monday Morning Funny,Dem Magic Sandals

Just a joke and made me chuckle.
People are too PC methinks.....

RE: d a b radio req !

Comet have them Pure £100 and £130 plus the Goodmans.
I rather doubt the quality tho, looks like a small portable.

RE: I have a choice, what will it be?

Not a million miles away then from me in sunny Shrews.

We bought a Bush 32" from Powerhouse for £340 a couple of months ago (take the storecard and get 10% discount)Won`t be a catalogue returns......

RE: I have a choice, what will it be?

Where are you buying it from then at that price?

Just take a look at the verticals as there can be a bit of bend due to the stretching to fit the widescreen. It can be annoying after a while.

RE: xXx £12.99 from W H Smith

Yes. Steer well clear, you`ll wish you didn`t even load it in the machine.

RE: Free Cupholders!!!

well seems to have messed up my puter too!
Not impressed with this bargain!!!!!!!

RE: best learning remote under 50 quid???????????

Bought the Mosaic for £60 from RicherSounds.
Programmed it for almost everything and it still has over 90% memory left to play with. Bit of a brick but even the women like it. You do need rechargeable batteries esp when you first start programming it.
It has a backlight too. I was impressed as any missing codes are downloaded from the helpline without a problem.

RE: New DVD Amp goes pop! Help!!

Empire Direct have the Yamaha DSPAX630 for £257 if that`s of any interest. The amp, no receiver, version. Seems a good price.......

Bought the speakers now what do you recommend?

I`m trying to put together a system for my girl friend. Not that much money but she likes the idea of DVD and loves music.

Bought a set of Mission Cinema6 for £180 which seemed good value?
So what will compliment these?

I had thought that a Yamaha 430RDS receiver and a Tosh 220e would suit but you might tell me different.....

leconcepts delay

it`s a 10 days now and they have not sent my order. Two telephone calls and an un-answered e-mail. So should I order elswhere or has anyone had success with this company?

RE: Momitsu DVD Player with Built in FM receiver

I`ve no idea how it performs but at that price it could be good in the bedroom or as a prezzie.

RE: best deal on 32" widescreen ?

Depends on how much of a bargain you want......
You can get the Bush 32" 7673 from Powerhouse today (well I did) for £399 less 8% for taking out their storecard
Next cheapest tis the Tesco.com deal for Beko at £449 delivered and that has a stand.

If those are not good for you than maybe look at the discount you get for taking the storecard and choose a nice new Tosh or such from PH
